I make soulful records with great people who are wonderfully unique musical souls. My speciality is old school soul music and anything that's rootsy and organic. I'm your guy if you love the great records coming out of Muscle Shoals, Memphis and New Orleans. I'm at home at the crossroads of analog and digital. Let's get in the groove together!

As producer I'm especially influenced by Allen Toussaint and John Simon's work with The Band. As a songwriter I've learned from Dan Penn, Spooner Oldham, Donnie Fritts and George Jackson. I know the fabric of those soulful records and know how to tap into that world. I'm fortunate that I've been able to work with many of my favorite musicians and songwriters who have become great mentors like Jimmy Johnson and David Hood of the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section and The Muscle Shoals Horns. As a producer, I'm the main sounding board for the artist and it's my duty to realize their vision and compliment their talents with what I can bring to the table. My production approach is to assemble a great collective of musicians and record the basic track as live as possible in the studio. The main studios I'm working at are The NuttHouse in Muscle Shoals and Creative Workshop in Nashville but I've worked in many wonderful studios in North America and Europe. On many of my projects, I collaborate with my favorite engineers Joe Funderburk and the Grammy winning Jimmy Nutt. Also, I'm very conscious of the recording budget und want to make sure that time and money is spent wisely in the studio. Pre-production is the key to making the process go smoothly. I'm also there to help the artists write or find the right songs for the project. Over 100 of the songs I wrote/co-wrote have been recorded.
