Interview with Pink Noise
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: We recently got a cut on the Sofia Reyes album. Its a product of many years of hard work so that was particularly satisfying.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Oo.. little bit of both. Digital tools give you possibilities you can't achieve in analog. But we have select pieces of top-end gear too. It can give you that magic you just can't get without touching transformers and tubes.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: We enjoy working with new talent and unlocking potential. We will put everything we have into trying to deliver your vision...
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That there is one specific role. We are here to deliver an end to end product. You can't deliver unless you are willing to be involved in every part of the process, because you care.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Lets talk.. we can always work something out that meets your budget and needs.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: We are currently trying to create a sound in the Reggaeton space but are RnB / Hip Hop at heart, we think we bring that specific melodic element to the productions we do.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Use mid-side EQ to dip out reverb (or anything else) in the mid channel 1-2k. Leaves space for the vocal and increases perceived wideness.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A hooky ear..
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: We like to find a soundscape, whether that be by ourselves or based on client inputs. Then we work with melody until we have something strong and can build out the production. Then its all about details and effort spent.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: We have two set ups, one for recording and one for production and mixing. We have lots of analog and vintage gear to get that sound.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: We like to deliver or collaborate on full songs/productions. But we are happy to bring something to any part of the process.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Oo.. little bit of both. Digital tools give you possibilities you can't achieve in analog. But we have select pieces of top end gear which can give you that magic you just can't get anther way than touching transformers and tubes.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: We enjoy working with new talent and unlocking potential. We will put everything we have into trying to deliver your vision...
