OPIYO

Producer, Songwriter, and DJ

OPIYO on SoundBetter

Record producer, songwriter, and DJ specializing in world dance music and creative sound design.

I am a record producer, songwriter, vocalist, and DJ with Kenyan and Jamaican roots (currently based in United States).

Although I am comfortable working with all modern musical styles, my current focus is bringing my unique cultural background to world dance music such as afrobeats, dancehall, latin pop, baile funk, and more! 🌍🎶

I am also interested in introducing dance music from around the world to film, TV, and other visual mediums. 🎥

I have a background in vocal performance combined with hands-on studio experience as a recording engineer and producer. This has contributed to a growing catalog of musical works to include:

In addition to my published work as producer behind the desk, I have also published DJ mixes that include my favorite musical styles blended with some original tracks of mine. 🎧
