LXRD H33M

Producer, Songwriter

LXRD H33M on SoundBetter

I compose hard-hitting and smooth instrumentals as well as write and record deeply felt lyrics and melodies. I can make a unique instrumental for singer-songwriters as well as Hip-Hop Artists and as a vocalist, I can bring out the best of any composition.

I'm an artist and producer from North Hollywood, California. I can make the most of any instrumental sent my way and if you need an instrumental I can make something unique and worthy of your skills for you within a couple of hours. As an artist, I've collaborated with talent such as Calixte, CHXPO, Zelly Ocho, Dywaves (We made award-winning music video for our song SIDEWAYS), and many underground artists that have assisted me in honing my skills as a lyricist, vocalist, and producer. I've got hundreds if not over 1000 instrumentals but I'm prepared to create from scratch based on any guidelines sent my way.

Interview with LXRD H33M

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: There's a song that Dywaves released in 2020 called SLIMEZ that I Co-Produced, Co-Wrote, and Featured on that I'm particularly proud of because it has a message that I believe in which is not being attracted to the hype and the negative things there are to focus on in life because life is short and I hope we can spend our time here doing things we enjoy as well as serving each other to the best of our abilities because that's what keeps the world spinning. That song was created right after I had to stand up for one of my friends who I consider a brother when he was challenged and struck by another associate of ours. There was fresh emotion behind choosing to look at the good things in life rather than staying stuck in a destructive mentality.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I'm working on an album entitled StarLight T.I.N.T.E. (This Is Not The End) based on the Rage sound that became popular in 2021 with a heavy Drill record mixed in, as well as singles leading up to the release to build an audience who resonates with the sound and will be in anticipation for the release of the LP.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Calixte.

  7. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  8. A: Don't be afraid to manipulate sounds you think you're married to, you might just end up creating an entirely new sound that no ones used the way you're going to...

  9. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  10. A: I've kind of made my specialty contemporary Hip-Hop, from soulful but hard-hitting music inspired by 808s and Heartbreak to heavy, dreamy sounds inspired by songs like Miss The Rage and almost everything in between.

  11. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  12. A: Coming up with a perfect topline to an inspiring instrumental.

  13. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  14. A: A refreshing and unique addition whether it be production, creating a solid baseline that will inspire a songwriter, vocalist, or instrumentalist, or adding depth to an instrumental with heavy or light lyrical content and strong melodies and vocals.

  15. Q: What's your typical work process?

  16. A: When writing a lot of the time I'll come up with the entire song phrase by phrase just recording as the lyrics and melody come to me. There's deep thinking and cheer involved because I get excited when I can make something sound masterful and simple at the same time. With production, I usually start with chords or a melody on the sound of my choosing, which may be subject to change or manipulation as it comes together. After I've got an amalgamation of keys, synths, and other melodic instruments I turn to my specialty, percussion. I enjoy using heavy 808s when the song calls for a hard-hitting edge and auxilary percussion such as bells or wood blocks. I use sounds from the striking of different parts of a tree trunk when I feel it's neccessary. It usually doesn't take more than 40 minutes to finish an instrumental.

  17. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  18. A: Kanye West, Trippie Redd, Herbie Hancock, Mechanix, J-Dilla, Metro Boomin, Gunna, Wheezy, Taurus, Scott Storch, Mike Dean, The Roots, OutKast, Daft Punk, Deadmau5.
