Production, Mixing, Mastering, Ghost Production

Hello,

I am doing a special for first time customers. Mixing & Master of the first track is free!

My name is Matt Smith. I am a Producer, label owner and sound engineer from Ireland with over 15 years experience working in large and project studios. I mainly concentrate on electronic music and can help turn your projects into finished polished tracks ready for the dance floor. I can also fully design custom tracks based on your needs. I have done this for many artists in the past but I would prefer now to build a small list of clients that I can work with closely to grow projects into successful brands and partnerships. I have a proven track record of my music on the worlds best electronic labels and I also have music on the big 3. I’m always ready to take on new projects and help steer you in the right direction should you require advice.

Interview with Matt Jeremiah Smith

  1. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  2. A: I'm working mostly in Logic Pro and using plugins from UA, Fabfilter, Waves, NI, Arturia, I have a range of monitor speakers but I looove my NS-10s. Sorry if that bothers anyone :). I'm definitely of the ethos that you should get to know a few plugins very well that suit your style. Knowing one compressor or EQ and how that translates to the outside world is worth more than having lots of plugins just for the sake of it.

  3. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  4. A: I think working on the album "Into the Deep" with Glenn Morrison. The album had what seemed like an impossible turn around time. Write, Mix and produce an album of at least 15 tracks in 2 months. It ended up taking 3 but boy were we happy. Having people like David Morales, Ewan Pearson and Dave Seaman on remix duty was pretty special too. The full length mix which was done on Ableton was a cool experience too

  5. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  6. A: I'm always writing

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: That they can expect my attention to detail and that I am only as good as my last production so I will always endeavor to make the best finished product

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: I hope it brings people happiness but I also enjoy the independence of working for myself

  11. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  12. A: That all it takes is fancy plugins

  13. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  14. A: I ask them to be honest. It's the best way we can get to the finish and create something they can be happy with

  15. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  16. A: Communication is key. Tell me as much about your vision and ambition for the project

  17. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  18. A: If I was on a desert island there wouldn't be any electricity lol. Maybe some acoustic drums and my guitar.

  19. Q: How would you describe your style?

  20. A: Somewhere in between methodical and creative

  21. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  22. A: I like to work with anybody that loves music and has a good attitude

  23. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  24. A: Too many to list but production wise I have always admired Rick Rubin. Anybody making and producing music is an inspiration because it certainly isn't an easy career. The idea is to create something beautiful and hope that it brings happiness to peoples lives

  25. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  26. A: Know your room and do everything no matter how small to improve the sound that's reaching your ears. All the expensive equipment/plugins in the world wont do you any good if you don't know what's going on.

  27. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  28. A: Electronic music. House, Techno, Trance but I'm also a sucker for some good pop music

  29. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  30. A: My speed

  31. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  32. A: I am particularly strong at finding the elements in a track that really make it stand out and maximizing for the client

  33. Q: What's your typical work process?

  34. A: The speed and quality in which I work has always been one of the reasons why I get so many repeat client's. I am very organized when it comes to my setup, and find it a challenge to produce a finished product that the client will be really happy with.

  35. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  36. A: My main type of work is ghost production and Mixing
