Hey! My name is Aaron and I'm a producer and head engineer at Fab Factory Studios. I've produced records for Atlantic, Monstercat, APG, Photofinish, Spinnin Records and have accumulated almost 100 million streams from production alone. I currently specialize in Dolby Atmos mixing for music as well as stereo mixing.

Hailing from the bay area, Aaron Osborne is a multi genre producer and multi instrumentalist. With his unique approach to sound design and deep knowledge of vocal production, there isn’t a single artist that has left Aaron’s sessions without a piece of art they are proud of.
As a top graduate from icon collective winning the esteemed collaboration final project, Aaron has spent the past 4 years in LA building up his catalog of production credits with over 90 million streams. In all genres ranging from dance, indie/acoustic, pop, electronic, and punk rock. he has gained experience and skills with soundscapes that doesn’t limit creativity. With His ability to play almost every instrument, design sounds from scratch, and ability to help collaborate and write with artists, Aaron has developed multiple successful albums and artist projects.
From growing up listening to the sounds of metallica to being one of the top tuba players in the state of California, aaron’s musical background goes back to before he can remember. He started producing music in Ableton at the age of 12 and 3 years later was noticed and mentored by platinum producer Quincy Scott, who is known for developing Stephen as well as Krewella’s debut album.

Interview with Aaron Osborne

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I've done a fun remix for Flo Rida that came out, as well as had some big releases that I produced for artists with Monstercat and Spinnin Records, but most recently I've been developing an artist that just got to play EDC, one of the biggest music festivals in the world.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I'm currently producing for a select few artists that I'm very close with, but opening up Atmos mixing for any client.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Analog for recording, digital for mixing.

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: I love to be really good at making things sound really good.

  9. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  10. A: Is Dolby Atmos really that big of a deal? It's only as big as you want it to be. Pretty soon, DSP's won't be allowing artists to upload songs without including an atmos mix.

  11. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  12. A: Dolby Atmos is the very last step in preparing a song for a release. All I ask is if they have mix stems from the engineer that mixed it and a mastered stereo reference.

  13. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  14. A: Dolby Atmos is just at the tip of the iceberg. It's become more affordable for people to acquire mixes and there's many incentives for artists that release music in Atmos. One of those being that apple music has more support and pay for artists that do so.

  15. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  16. A: Honestly just a computer, charger, headphones, and my iLok. It's not the size of the sword, but how sharp the blade is.

  17. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  18. A: I've been in music my whole life, it wasn't until 4 years ago that I moved out to LA to work full time in the music industry. Every step of this path has been so rewarding.

  19. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  20. A: Skrillex, he's one of my all time favorite artists

  21. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  22. A: LA-2A on vocals always, it has the best tone and a type of compression that evens out the vocal without it sounding compressed.
