As an international award-winning vocalist, and over 15 years of professional experience in vocal jazz, musical theater, pop/rock, and blues/R&B, I provide high quality work that is guaranteed to make your project to shine. Producing myself, I ensure you clean professional tracks with a fast turn around time at a very affordable price.

As a dynamic award-winning vocalist for 15+ years, I have lots of experience in many genres, including but not limited to vocal jazz, musical theater, pop/rock, and blues/R&B. For 7 of those years, I have gotten the opportunity to record my voice professionally in a range of settings. Thus leading us here!

About My Voice:
• I have a 4-octave range.
• Tone compared to that of Christina Aguilera, Ariana Grande, and Billie Eilish
• Mesmerizing, powerful and ear-catching
• Contains incredible variety and control
• Fresh and Unique

My ears allow me to easily hear and re-embellish melodies and harmonies that are memorable and tasty. I also read music, so compositions on manuscripts work fine for me as well. Oh, and I record from my home studio using professional top-notch gear. So, I ensure you clean and professional tracks with a fast turn-around time at an affordable price.

Brette was fantastic from the very start, editing the samples I requested so they were easy to listen to (you'd be surprised how few singers do this). She asked insightful questions in order to play the unique character of the song's narrator. During the live recording session, she was upbeat and professional, understood all my ideas, and offered some good ones of her own. After release, she has been an enthusiastic promoter of the song and has been willing to do interviews. On top of all that, her voice is magnificent, able to provide both the power and the sweetness that my song required.

Brette Alana completely blew me away with her creative intuition and ecstatic energy. She is a pleasure to work with as she is a clear communicator and musical innovator! It is incredible to hear her knowledge of music theory become so fluent in her fully produced sync track for my 2023 highlight reel! She was able to accommodate so much and work so closely with my project to create an amazing collaboration. I will most definitely be coming back to her for future work! Fast! Amazing Quality! Lots of Experience! Why bother looking anywhere else?

Brette Alana is truly a professional, well-rounded vocalist and talented musician. She has received the prestigious International #1 Downbeat Vocal Jazz Award for 2021 & 2022 with her ARC Vocal Jazz Ensemble Members. Brette Alana is a very creative songwriter, excellent music teacher & mentor, and jazz-pop vocalist and trumpet player. Brette Alan can improvise and entertain on the spot with any jazz big band ensemble, jazz combo, pop, or rock band with integrity and confidence. If you listen to Brette Alana's voice, you find she sounds like an Angel with perfect pitch and articulation.

Incredibly reliable, punctual, and fun... Kept communication throughout the entire vocal process of the project ensuring satisfaction throughout, and together we made a beautiful cover music video. I highly recommend this vocalist for those looking for creativity, spunk, and off-the-charts results. I will definitely be working with her again on future projects and am honored to get to be first to say thank you so much, Brette!

Interview with Brette Alana

  1. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  2. A: I have worked on a variety of music including, but not limited to: R&B/Soul, Vocal Jazz, Pop/Rock, Classical, Musical Theater, and Indie/Folk. I find that recently most of my projects have been more in the R&B and Rock genres.

  3. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  4. A: I would say my flexibility, communication, and determination to get a project just right for myself or a client. I am also incredibly open to suggestions or constructive criticism.

  5. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  6. A: Story, Life & Soul. Music is here to tell our stories, to feel our emotions whether depressed, joyful, or angry. These are all things that cannot be forgotten in the music world. Music needs a sense of real-ness, authenticity and inspiration. I dedicate myself to providing that element to every musical endeavor I go on.

  7. Q: What's your typical work process?

  8. A: My work process tends to be all in. When I have a goal or project in sight, I can't move on until it is properly finished. I almost get into a giddy flow-like state when it comes to working on anything musical. I get very "in the zone". That's why it is my career and passion.

  9. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  10. A: I have the most experience in providing my vocals to award-winning projects and customized gifts.

  11. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  12. A: I am currently in the process of wrapping up a complete album that American River College Vocal Jazz Ensemble is releasing incredibly soon. This album is what really introduced me to home studio work as the group could not attend the professional studio they typically worked worked in. The year was 2020 and we decided to push through and record everything ourselves. Im super proud to have vocally lead that group for some time and to have this incredibly special album showcase all of our hard work.

  13. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  14. A: I am currently working on a handful of session vocal and full production projects for both clients and myself. You ca find more in my news section.

  15. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  16. A: Yes! BoomFox Productions is a great company that provides a long accomodating list of services. I recommend them!

  17. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  18. A: For where I am at right now in life, digital. I find it to be most flexible and workable for me. But I look forward to being able to consistently work with analog in the future.

  19. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  20. A: High-Quality, Professional, Timely and Satisfying Results.

  21. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  22. A: Being able to consciously create. I love constantly being pushed to and through new things, be it style, genre, or idea. I love that I I get to use my creativity skills as a force for good and change within the world.

  23. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  24. A: Again, revisions! 1 revision will equal a list of minor adjustments you would like made in the track(s).

  25. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  26. A: Revisions! For me, 1 revision will equal a list of minor adjustments you would like made in the track(s).

  27. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  28. A: What is your overall intention with this project? I want to share your vision, so please lay it all down on me.

  29. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  30. A: Provide all and as many details in the beginning as you can! This can ensure a rapid and immediate start time and therefore turn around time. Help us, help you!

  31. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  32. A: Macbook, Harddrive, Headphones, Midi controller, USB Mic. The essentials.

  33. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  34. A: I have been doing music professionally for over 15 years. I got most of my experience from performing on stage, but about 5 years ago I started my professional venture into production and session work. It Is here where I have found what really brings me joy.

  35. Q: How would you describe your style?

  36. A: Very free-flowing. I love intricate harmonies and dirty grooves. I guess I would also say unique. My voice is flexible so I can provide the sounds you're looking for, but me as a stand alone artist naturally provides a very unique ear-attracting color. I sing low and sultry, but I am naturally designed with a floaty and light tone.

  37. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  38. A: I would really love to work with artists like Joy Crookes, Little Simz, Greentea Peng, and Erykah Badu because I really love the uniqueness and style they bring to their music. It brings the listener in to soul. And the messages are always worth hearing and relatable. Now, as an improv vocalist I would love to work with Veronica Swift or Cyrille Aimee.

  39. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  40. A: Breathe and listen with eyes closed.

  41. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  42. A: My studio set up is one I have worked so much on over the years and have become extremely proud of. After years of using Reason as my DAW, I have recently made the transition to Logic Pro and have been totally loving it. I find my workflow to be even smoother and faster. To record my clean vocals I use my Rode NT1A and my sound-proofing cage. I absolutely love my Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pros to ensure tracks don't bleed onto any recordings. My JBL 305P MK2 keep the work vibe thumping. I love my AKAI Mini MPK3 Midi that accompanies me on my beat-making way. Top it off with my PreSonus interface, 2 display monitor, and some LED lights, and I have found myself an incredibly pleasing studio.

  43. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  44. A: For me, it is the local musicians. The musicians who do music out of pure passion. I always strive to bring that pure passion into my projects and lead me through my career.
