My reviews and the feedback I get from my clients are a huge compliment to that statement.

Nikos is a brilliant musician with great tone and approach to playing. He’s easy to work with and I’ve used him on every project that needs strings! Plus, he has an ear toward the mixing/engineering side of things, which is always helpful. He’s a vital part of my tracks and I appreciate just how invested he is on projects. Highly, highly recommend him.

Nikos is an excellent musician who gave me an incredible sounding string section for an unbeatable cost. Really easy to work with him, and the parts were sent super quickly. I look forward to working with him again.

Consummate professional and lovely person.
I've found my violinist in Nikos and have no intention of even so much as looking for anyone else. In working with him we established trust and clear communication that's allowed me to make a note in new songs I'm working on to "leave the violin to Nikos" and save myself some time when writing.

Nikos has done it once again. He had purchased a new microphone and recorded all his parts with both the old and new so I could get a sense of the difference between them. He's so dedicated and his communication is just way, way beyond anything I would expect. His passion for the process is amazing. If you use him, your tracks will be always be elevated by his playing.

Nikos is a true professional, and is responsive, direct and highly enthusiastic. He is also an extremely talented musician, and has now added strings to 3 of my projects, each time elevating them considerably.

Nikos gave some really great string tracks that provided a new dimension to a rock tune, totally creative ideas and excellent recording quality!

There's nothing I can say that hasn't been said before, an absolute pleasure to work with Nikos. I went in only expecting to do a few songs but the more I work with him, the more I want to work with him, and it's been a joy to stretch my budget out and work together on more songs.
He goes above and beyond constantly and has made me feel so much more confident about my own music because of his contributions.

Yet another session where Nikos was able to get me the violin and viola parts back within the week. Amazing player, good communication as always. Always a pleasure to work with.

Nikos is an outstanding musician and person. Competent, understanding and really, really adept at figuring out what you like and adjusting his playing to suit that. The quality of his recordings is excellent and his communication is stellar, you'll be hard pressed to find anyone better at any price point.
My only regret is that this time I came to him with my own scores, in the future I'll be trusting him a lot more in the writing process. I don't plan on looking for a violinist again! - check_circleVerified
Nikos is great to work with, very responsive, and makes sure to understand the goal the project, and it is obvious he has a passion for music. Looking forward to working with him again!

It's not the first time we contacted Nikos to record violin and viola for one project of ours. Honestly each time is unique. He is our favorite musician. He not only records too many tracks but also gives us mixing advices to achieve the best result. He even mixed all his recordings into one stereo channel. He is the best addition in every type of music. We already have recorded various tracks and he added an extra layer to all of them, offering with his melodies generously. Thanks for everything!

Another wonderful session w/Nikos. You can't go wrong with booking him and his dedication to his craft and to every project is fantastic. Another thing I'll add- the actual quality of his recordings is top tier. There are no loud background noises, no capturing of shifting body positions or bumping of the actual instrument. His tracks are clean, which makes them so much easier to put into a mix.
He is a world class player and his communication is always great.

I've worked with Nikos on two songs now and in both cases he's gone above and beyond. I'm stunned with the beauty of the arrangements he's cooked up for me - in both cases, he's intuited exactly what I've wanted and then taken that sound to the next level. He's the best strings player / arranger here on SoundBetter - definitely looking forward to working with him again!
Interview with Nikos Mavridis
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am especially proud to have participated twice in the International Violin Masterclass of Leonidas Kavakos. He is one of the best Violinistst worldwide and this was a dream come true and a huge honor.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Working on releasing my own music. A very difficult step for many of us who write and produce their own music. But i am getting closer.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That they will be very satisfied with my musical experience and my classical professionalism.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be as exact as you can about what you want. Feel free to talk a lot about it. Send reference tracks. Online collaboration can be tricky, so the more I know, the better I can understand what the customer wants.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A 3/4 Classic Guitar and 4 sets of strings. Boom!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My grandfather and my father are Violinists, so i do it since I was a child. I have completed my classical studies in Germany. Regular studio experience since 2007 with a great number of Bands and genres. Meantime doing concerts as a Classical Violinist, Viola, session Musician, and trying my luck as a producer, music composer and sound engineer.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I have no particular style. One of my strongest skills is imitation. I can play like a top notch Classical Violinist or a drunk Fiddler. It's fun to have many different personalities.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I absolutely love Lana Del Rey. Wish i could one day produce one of her albums. Why? Because she seems to need a Producer and i seem to need an Artist to produce. I think it would be a great Album.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: If you want to add some analog warmth to your harmonies, play some sublime Hammond organ to it. No one will notice, but it will make a huge difference. Done it many times with a friend that owns a Studio in Germany. We call it a homeopathic dose of Hammond. (The Hammond must be real. No plugins). I am the lucky owner of a T-500.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Whatever kind of music requires a violin or a string ensemble. Literally anything. From Pop to Folk, Metal or Electronic music. Strings nowadays can serve many purposes. This is a very fortunate fact.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I have perfect pitch, a relatively fast prima vista, lots of experience in studio and on stage and a very solid violin technique. Besides that I have a very broad personal musical taste for many music genres, for that reason I can adapt very good to the demands of a particular type of music and imitate lots of different styles of playing.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Whatever a customer needs. It could be a String Arrangement, it could be a Solo, or something totally sublime. I am very flexible about this. Long term clients seem to trust me with my experimental sides, relying on my experience as a Musician. I really like it when it happens.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Customer sends the track with an audio or midi file and describes his wishes verbally. I try to get the best picture I can about the sound and the style. If possible there is a reference track. I make the recordings and if needed we make a few changes. Usually not many changes are needed if the communication is good enough from the start. This is for me the most essential part of the workflow.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: A nicely balanced acoustic treatment. Medium sized Room. Audient iD14 Soundcard with Burr Brown converters. Aston Origin Microphone. Logic Pro X. Yamaha HS7 Monitors. Sennheiser DT770 Headphones.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Lately i am very inspired by modern producers such as Illangelo. But my influences are noumerous. Radiohead, Beatles, Russian Rock bands, Modern Trap, Old school Hip Hop, you name it. Good music is always good.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: A client has something particular in mind, or wants me to add my own ideas to the track. Often it is both. We discuss the details and proceed to the recordings.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: We are lucky to have a choice. I choose both.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: A a musician I have travelled a lot, met lots of people, played lots of different music and look forward to do exactly the same in the future.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I have not noticed a misconception till now. It is what it is.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Depends on what the client needs. There are questions about sound, style, arrangement etc.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: There are no common questions yet.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Petros Voudouris. A sound engineer, a friend, and the person that helped to make this profile.
