Maga Clavijo (1994, Argentina) is a latin violinist and sound designer, specialized in co-creating interdisciplinary projects related to theatre, visual arts and performance. She also composes music for inmersive experiences and installations. As a violinist she played with renowned local and international musicians such as Mimi Maura, Marilina Bertoldi, Tony Malaby, Javiera Mena, Sebastián Verea, Violeta Garcia and more. She studied classical repertoire at the Conservatory and has a postgraduated degree in digital arts at the UNSAM (Universidad Nacional San Martin).

Interview with Maga

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: In my home studio I have YAMAHA HS7 for monitoring, AUDIO TECHNICA M50 for mixing and a variety of microphones such as AKG 420, SONY C38B for recording acoustic instruments. I also have a tape machine and amplifiers. It is acoustically tuned for neat recordings.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Normally I receive jobs as a session player to record lines with the violin that artists compose with MIDIS instruments or directly into sheet music. During this process many times (depending on the profile of the artist) they ask me, as an instrumentalist and artist, to display the music beyond the score they sent me, giving me the possibility of composing possible new arrangements for the song under my personal musicality and aesthetics. Musical genre of all kinds, violin solo, harmonic arrangements, string quartet (I have a team that I work with regularly) and layers of superimposed violins
