I focus mostly on Blues, Rock,Funk,Pop and Latin oriented styles, but I also do other stuff (except double bassdrums),just contact me with what you have in mind that you wish me to record. Before SB I have recorded over 150 songs for different artists, musicians and producers in my studio, and now I also want to expand my services here on Soundbetter.

Process:
- You send me the song(s) and let me know what you'd like. Links to references are helpful.
- I record the song(s) and email you an Mp3 of your song with my drum take. Then we can talk about changes etc. Once you're happy I send all tracks and a Drums-stereomix.

What I need from you:
A rough mix of your song without drums (and also with drums if you have), the BPM. A split between the vocals/lead-instrument from the rest of the instruments is helpful for monitoring.
The drum kit (Ludwig Classic Maple or Premier Genista) is fully miked up and I use high quality gear including analog preamps that contribute to a warm, fat and good classic drumsound. I use different snares and cymbals that I change between.

Interview with Magnus Forsberg

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I record in a medium size room with high ceiling. I have 3 drum kits and I use them both in the studio and live. One of them is always set up in the studio and ready to record. The drum kits I use are: Ludwig Classic Maple (22, 10, 12, 13, 16), Premier Genista (22, 10, 12, 14, 16) and Ludwig Club Date (24, 12, 14, 16). I use the snare that I feel suits the tune the most, and I have the following snares: Ludwig Supraphonic, Ludwig Acrophonic, Ludwig Universal Black Brass and Tama SLP maple. I have a lot of different cymbals that I change between from Zildjian, Istanbul, Bosphorus etc, and a couple of really nice Zildjian vintage hi-hats. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I get inspired by "all" musicians, singers, producers in some way, everybody have something unik. To mention a few drummers that have inspired me: Ian Paice, David Garibaldi, Steve Gadd, Chris vipper Layton, Mitch Mitchell, Vinnie Colaiuta, Peter Erskine, Ringo Starr, Keith Carlock Bands/Artists: Tedeschi Trucks band, Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Dirty Loops, Toto, Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan, ZZ Top,
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Clients send me tunes that they want drums on. It varies where in the process they are when they send me the music. Sometime it's just in the start of the recording process and they send me something quite raw for me to play on. I record the drums and the artist/band/producer records everything after I have sendt my drum recording. Other times the music is in the end process with programmed drums and the artist/band/producer discover that they can get real drums from me.
