My name is Josiah, but most people call me "Jojo" (I'm fine with either). I am a mixing and mastering engineer, producer, and singer-songwriter from the south side of Chicago, Illinois. I began my music career as a beatmaker but eventually started producing my own songs while I was in college. After some years of "bedroom" music production, I landed a job as an audio engineer at Enviyon Recording Studios, which is known by most as the studio that Juice WRLD recorded at during his early music career. While working at Enviyon, I gained experience mixing and mastering audio “outside the box,” and recording and processing audio at various stages, all while simultaneously being subjected to very strict time constraints. Enviyon is an immensely popular studio in the Chicagoland area, which means that at most times, its schedule is booked back-to-back with sessions. This meant that I was usually working in a fast-paced and highly unpredictable environment, which consequently enabled me to train my ears and hone my speed and versatility in processing and preparing audio significantly faster than would typically be possible working in the average studio setting. After almost four years, however, I parted ways with Enviyon to further my experience as an independent contractor and promote my continued growth as an engineer and as a musician.
