You're an artist and your vision matters, no matter how much your imposter syndrome tells you otherwise. I mix & master for anxious artists who need someone to understand and resonate with their art.

That's because I'm an anxious artist myself. I'm overly empathic, and I use it to mix your songs in way that's true to you in your heart of hearts. Trusting other people with your music is a huge step. You invest so much money into the art but you don't know if the person you're hiring is emotionally invested in the song, or if they really understand the vision and emotions you're trying to get across. As an artist myself I know that just writing and recording the music can already be so emotionally taxing. I want to be able to help you through the next steps and make you confident in what your sharing with your audience.

I take the time before every project to get to know you as artist and let you really tell me who you are and what you're trying to say with your music. I love getting to know and understand people, and I LOVE mixing and mastering. That combination has helped me get great mixes that both my clients and I can be truly proud of.

You're an artist. Your feelings, your ideas, and your music are VALID, and you deserve the opportunity to share it with the world in a true and meaningful way. Let's get your music out there.

I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Modern Crybaby helped me get my track to the next level! He was very patient and kind since I'm a newb and understood what I wanted. He helped my song sonically come to life through the mix and by vastly improving the drums and chorus. Very communicative and professional, he took all my notes and feedback very seriously and was very detailed, I'd highly recommend collaborating with Modern Crybaby.

Modern Crybaby helped me revise, record, produce and release 3 EPs and a couple of singles, and I fully recommend working with him. He has an innate sense of the message and tone you want to convey as a performer. He helps you tap into that to create the best version of your music. He's helped me bring many songs to life in ways I couldn't on my own; his versatility as a musician and singer-songwriter himself helps him put himself in your shoes. Of all the producers and audio engineers I've ever worked with, Modern Crybaby is one of the most passionate and hardworking ones out there!

I've worked with Modern Crybaby so far on three singles and each experience has been 10/10. Throughout the entire process for each project, I felt like my creative vision was fully realized because of his investment in getting to know me as a person. The songs came to life better than I had even imagined because of his attention to detail, work ethic and genuine passion for producing, mixing and mastering. He is a talented and skilled professional and all around great human being who is a pleasure to work with!

Interview with Modern Crybaby

  1. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  2. A: My promise is that I'll do my best to help you get to a version of your song that is true to YOU. And on the off chance that you decide someone else will serve your music better, you'll have made a new friend, and maybe even learn something about yourself along the way.

  3. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  4. A: I always ask, what is this song about? What do you want your listeners to feel and why? I also ask for artists and songs to use as references, as well as why they chose those artists and songs. The communication can take longer than just a quick phone, but I think it's worth it. As artists, a lot of us just want to feel heard and understood, and I think our music and artistry becomes better when we actively do that for each other.

  5. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  6. A: I've been a solo artist and producer since I was 13. I've always produced and mixed my own music. I love the technical side of music just as much as the writing and creation, and mixing and mastering for others has been an amazing way for me to grow by meeting and helping other artist.

  7. Q: How would you describe your style?

  8. A: I'm really emo, haha. I'm always gonna go for the most deeply emotional version of a song when I'm mixing. I try to make it the version of itself that makes the most emotional impact moment to moment, whether it's an all out pop punk anthem or a soft solo acoustic ballad. We want real, raw, and true feelings. We want catharsis.

  9. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  10. A: This is a funny question to me, cuz I don't think I quite have a particular flare or sound that I often add to a song. Instead I try to bring the artist closer to their own song in a sense. When an artist comes to me, they're usually looking to bring their song to the next chapter in its development but are unsure how to get there. I use my technical and emotional expertise to bridge that gap the artist is trying to cross, while encouraging them to trust in their own vision.
