Rohan Sharma

Session Keyboardist

Rohan Sharma on SoundBetter

I am a solo keyboardist known as RO1 and I play in I Built The Sky. I have been credited on 40 releases so far as a primary and featured artist. I specialise in progressive metal, djent and rock music but I have played many other genres such as pop, funk, jazz and solo piano.

I am available for session keyboard recording, including writing keyboard parts, sound designing and programming synths and orchestras. I have a modern style of keyboard playing with an emphasis on creating unique and rich sounds. I am also technically skilled and can play anything you throw at me.

Would love to hear from you. Click the contact button above to get in touch.

Interview with Rohan Sharma

  1. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  2. A: To deliver professional sounding keyboard parts that suit their needs.

  3. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  4. A: Working on music from all kinds of artists and challenging myself on pretty much every track I work on to make it as good as I can.

  5. Q: How would you describe your style?

  6. A: Modern, heavy, rich and technical.

  7. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  8. A: Do you have an outline of what you would like me to play throughout the track? Do you have any keyboard parts already written or would you like me to write my part entirely? Do you have a deadline for my recording?

  9. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  10. A: My strongest skill is technique and playing with feel. I love recording emotive parts and creating a lot of expression with every sound that I play.

  11. Q: What's your typical work process?

  12. A: Typically, I learn any keyboard parts already written by the client first, and then add or change whatever I think serves the track best. Once I know what I need to play, I create/use appropriate sounds for the part. I then record and edit one section at a time to have an efficient process of recording, comping and re-recording anything right away if needed.

  13. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  14. A: I most commonly record session keyboard within the genre of progressive metal and djent. I also do a lot of guest solos with my unique synth lead sound and style. I have recorded other genres such as pop, rock, and jazz as well.
