HYLIA is amazing and I can't recommend her enough. We've worked on a few projects together and there will be many more. One thing I don't like about EDM is how stale and repetitive the lyrics/topics are for the genre. HYLIA has extremely unique and heartfelt lyrics that are sure to make you sit and question them as all good songs should. Highly recommend!

Working with Hylia has been fantastic! Her vocals are truly mesmerizing and bring a special touch to our upcoming song "Home". Hylia has this remarkable ability to infuse emotion into her singing, making every note feel authentic and deep.
Collaborating with her has been a pleasure. HYLIA not only has immense talent but also genuine passion. She's dedicated and creative, making the entire musical journey enjoyable.
I strongly recommend HYLIA for anyone looking for a singer with a unique voice, a solid work ethic, and a talent for writing great lyrics. I would love to work with her again :)

Hylia has always provided great vocals, toplines and writing. She's working on my song "Grasp On To Life" and it was an absolute pleasure having to work with such a talented producer/vocalist. She's got a perfect tone for electronic music, her lyrics are also extremely unique. This is a vocalist I would 100% work with again and I would suggest working with this amazing vocalist/writer ASAP!

Interview with HYLIA

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I am extremely proud of an upcoming collab coming out on a brand new, super top secret label. More details on that coming soon.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Currently working on building a consistent collaborative schedule for the year and finalizing an Acoustic Rendition of an EDM track I did last year. Many, many unreleased music on the way.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Sydney Grimm, an amazing female vocalist who has supported me from the get-go. Just a genuine person all around!

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: I promise to give my best with every project I take on. I only work on track's that truly inspire me and that give me a desire to create. So if I've taken on your project, unless something delay's that project like a family emergency or unexpected circumstance; than I'll be giving it my all.

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: Music is therapy. It's where I feel like my most genuine self. I love the freedom creativity brings. And how creativity is always ever changing. An ever-flowing tap of material and self discovery.

  11. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  12. A: What key and BPM I enjoy singing in. I don't have a specific answer.

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: I'd guess that people assume I do this full time. I balance music with being a stay at home mom.

  15. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  16. A: If they have any reference tracks to help me get a better picture of the sound they are looking for vocally. And timeline, realistically what I can take on with my collab schedule.

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: To take a look at my Spotify and see what I have previously worked on or what I have in my liked songs. That will help a producer looking to collaborate understand what kind of music I am more drawn to and have a higher likelihood of working on.

  19. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  20. A: A Pot, Flint Striker, Med Kit, Bow and Arrow, Tent. Gotta Survive

  21. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  22. A: I have been singing and involved within music since I was a little girl. Doing talent shows, leading worship teams, covering songs on YouTube since my pre-teen to college years. Music has always been my escape and passion. It was about three years ago now that I decided to fully step into the world of professionally recording my vocals and collaborating with artists.

  23. Q: How would you describe your style?

  24. A: My style is like a chameleon. Not glued to anything and I love to try new things and adapt to different genres.

  25. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  26. A: It would be my absolute dream to work with Adam Young. I grew up fascinated by the sounds Adam created through his music alias "Owl City". Such whimsical world building and poetic imagery.

  27. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  28. A: Layers, the more vocal layers the better.

  29. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  30. A: EDM mostly but would love to branch into more electro-pop or acoustic.

  31. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  32. A: Vocal Range. I love to try all kinds of key's and genre's.

  33. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  34. A: Lot's of emotion. I tend to write more reflective and depending on the vibe of the track, either hopeful, relatable, sentimental, etc. My writing tends to gear towards the more vulnerable side.

  35. Q: What's your typical work process?

  36. A: Typically, I receive the demo and create from there. Hearing an instrumental track/ hearing the music tends to inspire me to write best.

  37. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  38. A: Audio Technica Condenser Microphone, Focusrite Interface, Pop Filter, Sound Shield, Sound Proofed Studio, MacBook, PC, KRK Rokit 5 Studio Monitors, Behringer USB Interface.

  39. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  40. A: Porter Robinson, LIGHTS, Owl City, Paramore, PVRIS, Ado, etc.

  41. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  42. A: Writing completely original songs for most commonly, EDM tracks. I also have done many covers for different labels and producers. I truly enjoy putting my own unique sound and interpretation to cover tracks vocally.
