Film Scoring Composer & Pianist blending Classical piano with modern cinematic textures

I’m Clara Tomás Monroy, a Film Scoring Composer and Pianist. I received a full scholarship and a piano award from Berklee College of Music, and my work blends Classical traditions with modern cinematic textures, often enriched with synths to create immersive soundscapes.
I have composed for short films, documentaries, and independent projects, delivering emotionally resonant and original scores. My style is inspired by Max Richter, Jean-Michel Blais, and Danny Elfman, combining cinematic storytelling with intimate, human emotion. One of my tracks has reached nearly 300,000 streams on Spotify, reflecting a growing audience and versatility as both a composer and producer.
I work from my own professional recording studio, collaborating with highly skilled musicians and ensuring top-quality audio production. I specialize in writing for piano and strings, and my Seiler grand piano allows me to perform and record with a uniquely warm and expressive sound.
Every project I take on receives a personal, distinctive vision. I believe that in today’s world of formulaic and AI-generated music, audiences crave authentic, human-driven compositions—songs only true artists can create. My goal is to make your project’s soundtrack unforgettable, original, and emotionally powerful.

Clara is an incredible composer who created the piece This Is How It Went for one of my personal projects. The composition features strings, piano, flute, and some synthesizers. The piece was very well received at a conservatory concert, and I’m extremely happy with the work she did, staying so close to the storytelling concept I proposed.

It’s a pleasure to work with Clara. I’ve recorded some cellos for her compositions, and honestly, first of all she’s an artist, because the music she composes is beautiful, and secondly, she’s one of the people I’ve worked with most easily. She sends everything super well-prepared, and it’s such a joy to be able to work together. I highly recommend the experience.

Interview with Clara Tomás Monroy

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: One project I am especially proud of is a short film I recently scored. I was responsible for creating the entire soundtrack, from composing the themes to producing the final recordings. The project was challenging because it required a deep connection between the music and the emotions of the story. I focused on crafting piano and string arrangements that would enhance the characters’ inner world and the narrative arc. I’m proud of this project because the music received positive feedback from both the director and the audience, and it strengthened my experience in translating cinematic storytelling into music. In addition, it’s part of my ongoing work as a composer on Spotify, where I explore similar styles in neoclassical and cinematic music, combining intimate piano pieces with orchestral textures

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: People usually ask me if I charge per minute for big projects, like movies. In those cases, I work per project rather than per minute, because charging per minute would be too costly.
