Interview with BeatZ Bunnie

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: One project I’m especially proud of was working with a producer who specializes in sync licensing. I had the chance to learn how to write and create music specifically for TV, which opened my eyes to a whole new side of the industry. My role was writing the lyrics, recording the vocals and collaborating on the creative direction, making sure the track had the right tone, energy, and feel for sync. It was both inspiring and empowering, because it showed me how my voice could live not just in songs, but in storytelling on screen.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: At the moment, I’m writing music for a classic, well-known TV show, which has been an incredible learning experience. I’m also diving deeper into beat making and production, collaborating with new producers, and exploring fresh ways to stretch my sound. In my spare time, you’ll often find me recording meditations for my YouTube channel - it’s another creative outlet that keeps me grounded and inspired. Every day is a mix of projects, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Kim Morrell and Jaki Nelson are two female artists I really respect on this platform, and they were both a big part of why I decided to join. I’m still the new kid here, so I don’t have a huge list of collaborators yet, but I’m excited to keep expanding that circle. For now, my focus is on giving every client I work with the best possible experience, while also connecting with the incredible talent SoundBetter has to offer.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital it enhances the ability to work globally.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: My promise is to deliver both vibes and vocals. Providing vocals that feel polished, professional, and aligned with your vision. I’m easy to work with, I communicate clearly, and I take pride in making the process fun as well as smooth. You’ll get the soulful energy, clean stems, and reliable turnaround you need, without the stress. My goal is always to not just sing on your track, but to help it come alive in a way that makes you as excited to hear the final version as I am to record it.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I love bringing ideas to life and stepping in front of the microphone. Recording is such a creative high for me, it’s where I feel completely at home. There’s nothing better than hearing a track start to transform once the vocals are added. I also love the magic of experimenting with harmonies and vocal layers, because suddenly a song takes on an entirely new dimension. That moment when everything clicks together never gets old.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: The most common question I get is about turnaround time. My typical delivery is around three days depending on availability, and I can sometimes offer a 48-hour rush for an additional fee. Another frequent question is about revisions, I include one round at no extra cost. Clients also often ask what files they’ll receive. I always deliver clean, tuned, and edited 24-bit 48k WAV stems, clearly labeled and ready for mix.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: The biggest misconception is that revisions mean a full rerecording. Revisions are for small tweaks like phrasing or delivery, not redoing the entire track. If I’m given clear direction up front - like lyrics, references, and notes on the vibe, most projects need very few revisions because we get it right the first time. Another misconception is that vocals can just be dropped in without context. The more information I have about the song from the start, the smoother the process and the stronger the final result.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: When I first connect with a client, I ask about the vibe and vision of the track, as well as any reference songs they love. I require that clients provide finished lyrics, since writing is a separate service. I also ask for details like BPM, key, mood, and if there is anything they absolutely do not want in the vocal delivery. These questions help me understand the bigger picture so I can deliver vocals that align perfectly with their project.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: My advice is to come in with a clear vision of what you want your track to feel like. Share reference songs, notes on the energy you’re after, and any must-have details before we begin. The more you can tell me about your vibe and goals, the more I can deliver vocals and harmonies that fit seamlessly and bring your project to life.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: If I were on a desert island, I’d bring my microphone, interface, laptop with Studio One, a solid pair of headphones, and a solar charger. That way I could still record, layer, and create under the palm trees without worrying about running out of power. Island vibes, studio style. As long as I can figure out how to plug in, just to keep the vibes going.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I’ve been creating my entire life. I started singing as a child in church and was part of the lead worship team by the age of 10. Music has always been at the core of who I am, and over the years I’ve expanded my path as an entrepreneur in the creative space. Alongside recording vocals, I also teach and create guided meditations, weaving sound and mindfulness together. My journey has always been about expression, connection, and using my voice to inspire—whether through music, meditation, or collaboration with other artists.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: My style is genre fluid, blending soulful R&B and Neo-Soul roots with electronic, atmospheric, and dance-inspired sounds. My voice is often described as sultry, cosmic, and expressive, and I love creating dreamy harmonies, angelic tones, and smooth vocal runs. Because I draw inspiration from both timeless artists like Mariah Carey and Sade and modern electronic influences like ODESZA and Gorgon City, my style feels both classic and fresh, able to adapt seamlessly across House, EDM, Electro-Soul, and beyond.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Mariah Carey has been a lifelong influence for me, so working with her would be a dream because of her incredible range, vocal runs, and the way her songs connect on such a deep level. I would also love to collaborate with artists like ODESZA, Pretty Lights, Gorgon City, Sade, or Miguel Migs. Their music blends electronic, soulful, and atmospheric elements that align perfectly with my genre-fluid style. Working with artists who balance texture, energy, and feeling would allow me to bring my own harmonies, tone, and layered vocals into a space that feels both modern and timeless.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: One tip I often share is to leave space in the production for vocals to shine. The voice is an instrument, and when the mix isn’t overcrowded it allows harmonies, runs, and layers to really elevate the track. Even small adjustments, like pulling back competing synths or EQing around the vocal range, can make a huge difference in how the final song feels.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: My voice was made for R&B, electronic, and neo-soul. The genres I play well in are House, Tropical House, EDM, and Electro-Soul, as well as R&B, Neo-Soul, Dream Pop, Downtempo, Ambient, and Conscious music. However, because I am genre fluid, I enjoy moving between different styles and bringing fresh inspiration to each project. My focus is always on delivering vocals that fit seamlessly with the production while adding depth, character, and unique tone.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: My strongest skill is my ability to adapt my tone across genres, which allows me to fit seamlessly into House, EDM, R&B, Neo-Soul, Dream Pop, and more. I bring emotive vocals with rich harmonies and layered textures that add depth and polish to a song. Growing up, people called me “little Mariah Carey” because of my vocal range and ability to hit nearly all octaves, and today I still love adding angelic tones, smooth vocal runs, and dynamic layers that make tracks feel elevated and unforgettable. When I listen to a track, I naturally hear harmonies and runs that will enhance it, and I use that intuition to bring out the best in every project.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring soulful emotion and a genre-fluid style that helps every song stand out. My vocals are polished and professional, but they also carry depth and feeling that connect with listeners. I draw inspiration from my global travels and time in nature, which allows me to bring fresh ideas, harmonies, and layered textures that add richness and dimension. My goal is always to elevate a track so it feels both unforgettable and alive.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: My process starts with reviewing your track, references, and notes so I can fully understand your vision. I then record the lead vocals, harmonies, and layers from my home studio and provide you with a rough mix for approval. One round of revisions is included for small adjustments. Once you are happy and the project is approved, I deliver all stems as 24-bit 48k WAV files, tuned, edited, and ready for mix. My typical turnaround is about three days, with rush options available when needed.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: My home studio is equipped with a RØDE microphone, Scarlett interface, and Studio One DAW. I record in a treated space that allows me to capture clear, professional-quality vocals. All files are delivered fully tuned, edited, and labeled, with 24-bit 48k WAV stems provided for easy integration into your mix. This setup allows me to work efficiently and provide clients with polished results on a reliable turnaround.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I am inspired by many different artists and producers across genres. Because I am genre fluid, I do not pull from just one lane of music. I keep extensive playlists and, depending on my mood or activity, I will dive into different styles. Whether I am walking in nature, hiking, cooking, or relaxing at home, I often experiment with the songs I hear, playing with vocal harmonies, phrasing, or lyrical ideas. That constant exploration and connection to my surroundings keeps my creativity flowing and allows me to bring fresh inspiration into every project.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: The most common type of work I do for clients is recording lead vocals, harmonies, and layered background stacks from my home studio. I focus on delivering soulful, emotive recordings with a polished, professional sound that is mix-ready. Many clients also hire me for lush harmony arrangements and vocal textures that add depth and impact to their songs.
