Interview with xcole
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My last single was the best mix I've ever made; I created, arranged, produced, sang, and mix/mastered the whole song from start to finish.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: New songs, advertising for my brand and practicing performing.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: n/a
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital, because you can simulate any analog effects with your computer. Analog effects are fun to play with though.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That I will do my best to make your track sound as polished and professional as possible.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love the technicality of it all, following systems and organizing stems. I love that feeling you get when you make a great song with a high quality mix.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How to make vocals clearer and sound polished.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That you need a full studio to accomplish great mixes, it's just not true.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are you hoping to accomplish, do you have reference tracks to provide?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Listen to the quality of their work; it's not the gear or the setting that makes great mixes, it's the ears and skills of the engineer/producer.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Machete, Flint, Pot, Tarp, Clothes
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been doing this for 6 years for myself and 1 year for other people. I need more experience producing and mixing for other artists,
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Energetic and edgy, unique
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: EDM, Industrial, Rap, R&B, Pop, Indie

A: Full on production and engineering are my strong suites
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A unique perspective and an eye/ear for detail and quality, Persistence to achieve results
