Interview with Kary
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I produced and mastered an electronic track for an international artist, which stood out for its unique sound, energy on the dance floor, and went viral on platforms like TikTok. It shows how I turn ideas into professional, impactful music.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: At the moment, I’m producing original electronic tracks and beats for Hip Hop and Trap artists, as well as working on ghost production and mastering projects for international clients.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I don’t usually recommend specific names, but I advise clients to choose professionals with proven experience, a solid portfolio, and good communication — this ensures quality and professional results.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I prefer digital for its practicality and versatility, but I occasionally like to work with analog equipment to add character and warmth to the sound. This combination gives me control, speed, and creativity without compromising professional quality.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise is to deliver professional, unique, release-ready music, always respecting the client’s style and vision, with clear communication and on agreed deadlines.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: What I enjoy most about my job is turning ideas and references into music that moves people. I love the entire creative process, from production to mixing and mastering, and seeing the final result come to life.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Clients usually ask about delivery times, pricing, the possibility of revisions, and how the production process works. I always explain clearly: I deliver high-quality work within the agreed timeframe, maintain constant communication, and make revisions as needed to ensure the final result is exactly what the client wants.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Many people think music production is just pressing buttons or using presets. In reality, it’s a complex creative process that requires technical skills, mixing and mastering knowledge, sound design, and the sensitivity to understand the artist’s vision and turn it into real music.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Costumo perguntar sobre referências musicais, objetivos do projeto, prazos e expectativas de entrega. Também busco entender o estilo e a identidade que o cliente quer para garantir que o resultado final seja exatamente o que ele deseja.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: My advice is: choose someone who understands your vision and can turn your ideas into professional, unique music. Look for proven experience, clear communication, and commitment to quality and deadlines — this makes all the difference in the final result.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: I’d take my computer, a good pair of headphones, a comfortable chair, air conditioning, and that’s it — with this, I’d have everything I need to produce and work well even on a desert island.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started my career over 10 years ago as a producer and DJ, exploring various electronic and urban music genres. I’ve performed across the country, and over time, I’ve developed solid experience in production, mixing, mastering, and ghost production, working with a range of artists and professional projects.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style combines elements of modern electronic music with urban beat influences. I aim to create productions that are engaging, danceable, and of professional-level quality, while always maintaining originality and a unique identity.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would like to work with Diplo because of his versatility and creativity in production. I believe collaborating with an artist like him would be an amazing opportunity to learn, experiment, and take my productions to a new level.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: One tip I always use: finish your ideas quickly and then come back to refine them. Often, the first version captures the energy of inspiration, and polishing it later ensures quality without losing the original vibe.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I mainly work with electronic music genres like House, Minimal, and Afro House, as well as beats and productions for Hip Hop, Trap, and Funk. My focus is on creating tracks that work both on the dance floor and in streaming, always with professional quality.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is turning references and ideas into professional, unique songs. I have solid experience in production, mixing, and mastering, with a focus on delivering fast, high-quality results.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring identity and professionalism to every song. I always aim to combine creativity with the client’s references, ensuring originality, energy, and industry-level quality in every production. My goal is to turn an idea into a track that truly stands out.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I usually start by understanding the client’s references and goals. From there, I create the initial idea of the beat or track, develop the production, make adjustments based on client feedback, and finish with mixing and mastering to deliver a complete, release-ready product.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: designed for professional production, equipped with Ableton Live, top-tier plugins like FabFilter, iZotope, and UAD, along with reference monitors and high-quality headphones to ensure accuracy in mixing and mastering. It’s a setup that allows me to create everything from beats to full tracks with industry-level quality.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspired by Diplo as a super versatile producer, Chris Lake, Vintage Culture, and a few others.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I usually produce beats, create ghost productions based on client references, and handle many mastering projects.
