Talented, versatile and uniquely-determined, Matty has been working professionally as a multi-instrumentalist for 15+ years, has recorded on a countless number of albums, and has quickly become a recognized producer and songwriter. In 2008, he started music incubator, 825 Records, with Grammy-Winning engineer Butch Jones, delivering material from a wide-ranging roster of artists. He has landed worldwide broadcast licensing placements, developed dozens of independent artists from the ground-up and recorded and shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the industry. Matty works out of 825 Records' studio on a hybrid SSL console and is available for production, mixing, and remote tracks.

Great having Matty work on my track. A true professional and an enormous talent. Definitely brought track to the next level that complimented my vocal well with dynamic live drums, bass and unique arrangement of guitars, sampling, etc. Great mix and master too. I look forward to working with him again.

Matty was recommended to me and it was the best thing getting in touch with him. He has rare qualities - an amazing musican, producer, sound engineer, intuitive, responsive, interpretative and understanding. I cannot speak more highly of his professional approach and creative energy and I'm totally stoked with his work, looking forward to more.

From the time I got the first drum and bass rough mix of the track, I was WOWED!! As a drummer, Matty brought a fresh interpretation of what I outlined while still keeping the feel I was looking for. Likewise the mix was creative and had the right energy and emotion for the song. Looking forward to doing more projects with him. Highly recommended!!
Matty is a great guy and an amazing professional! He help me with some serious problems in my produccions! He take his time to help one guy in South America only for the price of help and make the music better in another part of the world! I recommend Matty´s work to anyone! His has a great audio and musical teaste!!
Matty Amendola is an excellent producer and artist in his own right. The minute I heard “Summer” from his album “Life Commercials” I wanted to see what we could do together. He had an immediate enthusiasm for my songs and it was inspiring to be around that. We worked together on "Morning Void' and I couldn't be happier with the results.
You won't find better than this guy. Matty is great at hearing the potential in a song and taking it to the next level, while also paying attention your requests/ideas. Tell him what you have in mind or trust him to do his own thing. He works quick and plays better than any drummer i've heard before. You won't be disappointed!
Matty fuels the artist to be the best he or she can be, no matter what level of talent he's dealing with. He makes a huge effort to accommodate the artist's thoughts and ideas without damaging originality. Matty is timely, thorough, and dedicated to all that he does with his clients. I would undergo this recording experience again in a heartbeat!
Matty is a POWERHOUSE!!!! A Jack of all trades (a superb professional musician, producer... If I typed all his bountiful skills here you'd have to keep scrolling so to keep it simple and strong, yup jack of all trades) that will treat your art with the utmost attention to detail!
Having the op to work with Matty Amendola at this stage of his about-to burgeon-career? It's like being able to ask out the new girl who just arrived in your neighborhood before the rest of the dudes at school notice her and start lining up! Hey, Matty's the "full-package" and brings 100% of his awesome array of talents to any project he takes on!
As Artist Liaison for TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik, I have the pleasure of working with many artists, engineers, and producers on a daily basis. I knew the first time I met Matty that he was tuned in to the sound from the vibe AND the gear side, and we hit it off right away. He recently produced our AES event, and crushed it! Glad we went to Matty
Matty can tweak and sample with the best of them but he knows that the best tracks are the ones with the least tweaking and the most air-pushing. In short, he's a talented young man with the warm (and likely tube-driven) soul of an old audio engineer. This is just one of Matty’s many great qualities which make him a joy to work with and be around.
When I played Matty the idea for my song "Get Out" we immediately jumped into working on it. I was drawn to his kindred sense of an open minded attitude to working with different genres of music. The song was released as a single on Matty's label 825 Records.
Matty Amendola is not only a great Producer/Engineer/MIxer but also fantastic Musician and songwriter in his own right..He also as a killer lineup of artists he develops on his label " 805 Records" i highly recommend him for all of your music needs!
I love that Matty encourages me to really be myself and find my own sound, while at the same time pushing me just far enough out of my comfort zone. It's also really amazing to work with someone who is equally geeked about lyrics and vocal harmonies as they are about some ridiculous spaceship sounds I can get out of my pedalboard.
People speak of 'triple threats" in the Biz. Matty could not be classified that way cause of the many categories he excels in. MA a "music machine". He is the only one I've ever found with as strong a work ethic as me. Which is why I love to work with him. A slamming drummer, amazing producer and TOTALLY dedicated to the song not the hot lick.
Matty Amendola,is a top notch music business pro. He has a full understanding of any musical project from the ground up ,due to his many years as a professional drummer and studio producer. He added so many colors to the tracks I worked with him on,from his stellar drum track to his nuanced background vocals and soundscapes he provided me,on the concept cd,my band Shynebox did called "GIG". I highly recommend Matty Amendola for any musical aspect of a project-Pete Johnson-Shyneboxx/ Surely Music LLC
He has an uncanny knack to know exactly where to take a track by enhancing the best bits. I can write a song and let him take the helm in the recording process and the track never gets lost at sea, not to mention his ability to handle any instrumentation as a jack of all trades musician. The kids a freak.
Working with Matty's the best. He is super fun and creative. Plus, he's always right on schedule and reachable.... You shouldn't think twice before recording with him.
Between hiring a producer, and hiring musicians, etc., the recording process can be pretty laborious and discouraging for a lot of people...
As an artist it is so important for me to be relaxed, positive and free...but the reality of not being signed under a huge money-making machine adds a lot of pressure.
A friend introduced me to Matty, and he wanted to start working right away. He took ALL the effort to help me work on this project and to make sure i felt confident that the final product was a true expression of me. It would be so hard for me to describe some of the things i wanted to hear in the song and somehow he just "got me" and would produce exactly what i wanted to hear! It was just a lot of fun and real layed back.
Matty is very intuitive, sweet, and soo comfortable to work with and i feel blessed that my song is finalized and i am extremely proud of it.
I didn't have to deal with anyone else in the process, he took care of everything on his own (paper work, etc.) Song was finished in no time and we're quickly moving on to the next! I finally feel like the ball is rolling and i can get my stuff out there. I recommend this to any artist who needs a helping hand.
xxmatty is not only great a producer and mixer but helps with the entire process from start to finish. he could be your co-writer, your band and the driving force for any recording project.
Interview with Matty Amendola
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both and because. I couldn't work in one or the other, and that's why I have created my hybrid workflow. I have 16 channels of active outboard on most mixes and half of that is a lego configuration of an SSL console channel strip. Digital makes everything possible, but analog provides that warmth, punch, and dimension that I grew up working with and listening to.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: My rates are a big question from most clients. I've been doing what I do for over 15 years, and my prices do reflect that. I also ask that clients realize that I'm not in a bedroom studio. I'm working in a studio that has a high overhead and ultimately is reflected in the quality of my work. I'm always willing to work with independent artists and their rates, however, that artist also has to be realistic and work with me.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: As mentioned above, even though my personal style is very particular, I'm more than willing and capable to roll with any vibe an artist is looking for. I'm typically happy to provide a free sample to prove that I can handle anything.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I gravitate very much to varying degrees of fidelity. I'm a big fan of the "analog" sound. I like things to be crunchy and imperfect in a complimentary way.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I think that everything after a song is written and arranged is an extension of the story being told. Particular instrument's timbres certainly fit vibes/attitude, and that's a big workflow for how I choose what's in production. I take this philosophy all the way to the mix stage as I believe much like putting a filter on a photo, a mix's sonic texture should match the emotion of the lyric.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm massively inspired by other producers who play multiple instruments. Some producer/artists I've been compared to are Jon Brion, Greg Wells, Butch Walker, Brendon O'Brien, and Eric Valentine.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I'm on my career path. I was playing drums at the age of 5, playing in bars and clubs by 12, touring and producing when I was in my late teens. 15+ years later and here we are.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Space is the place and less is more. I've been fortunate through the years to share my knowledge and considered an educator. I've done tutorials for the likes of Sonicscoop, The Deli, Telefunken, IK Multimedia and more. All of which I hope you check out and enjoy.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: My production work for artists includes everything from writing and recording, to session work and mixing. I also do a fair amount of sound design and scoring for corporate clients.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I'm very proud of 825 Records' studio. Designed in tandem with Chris Harmaty and Brian Dorfman, we have 2 floating rooms that sound great and are set up in a cockpit-style - everything is in arms reach. It's a true hybrid setup and is unequivocally a premier project studio.
