I specialize in crafting songs that sound as powerful as they feel. Whether you need an emotional pop mix, a full indie production, or help translating a voice memo into a finished record, I’ve got you.

With 5+ years of experience and a background in music production, audio engineering, and songwriting, I’ve worked with emerging artists, podcasters, and even sync-focused projects handling everything from vocal production to the final master. I also offer podcast editing, custom music for intros/outros, and clean-up services.

Artists choose me for my ear, attention to detail, and ability to take abstract ideas and turn them into something that connects. I treat every project like it’s my own and don’t stop until you’re genuinely excited to hit release.

Interview with Gabby Harwood

  1. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  2. A: My favorite part of my job is working with incredibly talented and creative people. I am constantly amazed by the imagination, talent, and intensely entertaining creativity that my clients display. Making music with people with a strong vision is the best.

  3. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  4. A: The most common question a client asks me is "How did you think to do that?". I always laugh when I hear this because I really don't sit there and think technically. I listen to what the track is asking for and how I can shape it into the world my artist has built around their project.

  5. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  6. A: The biggest misconception is that I just press buttons or make things “sound better.” What I really do is help artists bring an idea to life: emotionally, sonically, and intentionally. It's not just about polishing a track, it's about understanding the heart behind it and making sure every element supports that feeling. There's a lot of technical skill involved, but at the core, it's a creative, collaborative process that takes time, care, and trust.

  7. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  8. A: What songs do you want this to sound like? Do you have a release date in mind? Do you prefer remote or in-person work? Are you planning on having your track remixed or sync licensed?

  9. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  10. A: Be honest about what you're feeling, even if you're not sure how to explain it yet. The best results come when you share your vision, your influences, and your goals, even if they're still taking shape. I can help turn all of that into sound. You don't need to be technical or have it all figured out. Just bring your passion and your ideas, and I’ll help shape them into something you're proud of.

  11. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  12. A: I would take a macbook pro, a tascam portacapture, a telecaster with a 4 way switch installed, and an upright piano.

  13. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  14. A: I started writing professionaly at 17 years old. At 18, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue songwriting as well as a degree in Music Production. After a lot of collaboration and amazing session in Los Angeles, I decided to attend Berklee College of Music for their renowned Music Production and Audio Engineering degree. During my time at Berklee, I collaborated non-stop with my peers. I made so many connections with incredible artists who I am still in constant collaboration with. I am now finishing my degree in Houston, TX through a remote program at Berklee while I intern under various engineers and producers in the area. I have been singing since i was 13, writing since I was 10, producing since 16, engineering since 18.

  15. Q: How would you describe your style?

  16. A: I focus on capturing emotion through clean, intentional production. My goal is always to elevate the artist’s vision, not overshadow it. I pay close attention to detail and create space where the song can breathe. I’m not afraid to try bold ideas, but I always come back to what feels honest and serves the song. My sound is polished and professional, but still raw and human. I want every track to connect, not just impress.

  17. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  18. A: I would love to work with Jensen McRae. I am obsessed with her lyricism and I have so many ideas every time I listen to her tracks.

  19. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  20. A: Get all your ideas out! Record everything that comes to mind, and save every take. Then, the most important step: strip it back. Keep only what you absolutely love and what truly serves the song. Music production isn’t about showing off every idea: it’s about curating your ideas into an intentional, focused final sound.

  21. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  22. A: Recently, I have been working on a lot of indie pop records. I have a lot of experience in pop, indie pop, and singer-songwriter. During the start of my career, I worked with a lot of R&B and Rap clients as well.

  23. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  24. A: My strongest skill is my relentless drive to achieve the highest quality and most accurate sound possible, always aligned with the artist’s vision.

  25. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  26. A: I really do love helping artists by bringing more emotional depth to their music through lyrics, production, and engineering that feels honest and intentional. I also value technical precision. My time at Berklee, LA Recording School, and my various internships have helped shape my engineering to translate across platforms and genres. I bring versatility to the project I work on. I love to adapt to new sounds and help create genre bending work. Lastly, I'm not here to take over your project. I want to be a true collaborator. I’m here to elevate your vision and bridge the gap between your idea and the finished sound.

  27. Q: What's your typical work process?

  28. A: Normally, I love to start the process with really talking to my artists so that I can fully understand their vision and immerse myself into the world they are trying to create. I love delving into the ideas my artists bring to me and really helping them with every detail that adds up to create such a beautiful sound. I also get a sense of what they love about other artists records and what sounds they are looking for. This helps me to understand how to create the best sounds for them. Working on music is such an intimate process, so I love truly getting to know my clients and building trust so that I can help them achieve things like crazy riffs or belts that they wouldn't normally do themselves or think they were capable of.

  29. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  30. A: My studio setup consists of a small mic cabinet with a Shure SM7B, Universal Audio Apollo Twin, Native Instruments Komplete S49, Casio Privia, a Fender Telecaster, a Gaines Telecaster (locally made in Houston, TX), a Fender Highway Series Dreadnought Acoustic, a Martin LX1E, and a small cordoba. I also have access to Wire Road Studio in Houston, Texas.

  31. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  32. A: I am inspired by so many musicians, producer, and songwriters. I would say my favorite producer is Jack Antonoff. He has a way of reviving artists sound and broadening genres that I really admire. I also love the sounds of Mk.gee, Lorde, Clairo, Audrey Hobert, Kehlani, and more.

  33. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  34. A: My clients trust me to help establish their sound. Whether that is through music production, songwriting, vocal production, mixing, and mastering, we work collaboratively to bring their vision to life.
