A top performer of rock music, playing with artist such as Jelly roll, Kid rock, Zach Brown and many others on the stages of Nashville. I've also been a part of many recording sessions and have a Bachelors degree in recording and production from Appalachian State University. I've learned a lot in Nashville and hope to add some guitar to your song.
My name is Victor Arruda. I will record guitar on any song you'd like. Send me a description of what your looking for and I'll do my best to create a high quality guitar recording for you. I specialize in rock guitar (60s, 70s, 80s, Psychedelic, Indie, Modern Rock, Metal, Southern Rock, Hard Rock, Garage Rock, Blues and more.) I can do other styles as well such as Country, Pop, Latin, Jazz, Soul, RnB and whatever else you need. I'm very versatile.
I have quality recording preamps, microphones, and also vintage guitars and amps to get you that authentic sound. I use Logic Pro and Protools and have assisted at many studios in Nashville, getting that hands on experience using analog recording gear and achieving the best guitar tones.

Interview with Victor Arruda
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Calico Mantra is one of my favorites because it pushed me to write some of my favorite guitar lines. I wanted it to sound very 70s bowie meets queen and zeppelin but in this conceptual way in which the chord progressions sound very psychedelic, worldy and grand. Kinda hard to explain, check it out!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm working on my solo project which is alternative blues rock album. Jimi meets Jack White meets Led Zeppelin and Arctic Monkeys
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Tim Verona is a friend of mine and a great guitarist
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I'm doing what I love. Playing guitar and making music is my passion and dream. I'm always learning and getting improving myself.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Can you do revisions: Yes Can you record stereo guitar tracks: Yes Can you do multiple takes so I can choose the one I like: Yes
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: People often think I'm a 80's shredder but I'm definitely not. I go for more of a classic style.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What band or artist do you want me to approach this like? What guitars would like me to use? Specific tone you want? Pedals?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Let me know what vibe you're looking for. Band references always help!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: If it could be anything 59 Les Paul, Fender 62 stratocaster Marshall Plexi from 60s Neumann u87 from 60s Apollo interface
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with Jimmy Page because he is one of my biggest influences and would love to see how he approaches writing guitar parts and production.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't think to hard. Just let it flow and make it feel good. Less is more.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Jam out to your track to get natural ideas flowing. Piece together a mock take from the jams of what felt and sounded the best. Get best tone out of my gear for your track. Record tracks and do overdubs and solos as well. I typically want to get the most organic sounding parts and not something that sounds generic.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: On the guitar side of things, I love Jimmy Pages approach to recording guitar and writing parts. Also, other players like Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, George Harrison and Eric Clapton. On the heavier side, I like Slash, Eddie Van Halen and Randy Rhoads. For more modern players I like guys like John Frusciante, Marcus King and Mateus Asato. Production-wise, I like style like Eddie Kramer, Glen Johns, Dan Auerbach, Dave Cobb and Dave Fridmann.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I'm a professional performer in the Nashville scene, playing a couple times a week. Also, I do online session work for any band or musicians in need of guitar tracks on their songs. I record electric guitars, mix and master songs and anything in and around that.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Retro rock style with a modern flare.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I love analog and will always stick by it but I use a hybrid approach for recording. I'll use digital just for an easier and reliable work flow but I have analog gear that I'll incorporate into the process.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To deliver the best guitar track that matches the vibe you're looking for with soul and authenticity.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Content Creation, Musical Creation and Guitar Performance. I've been at it professionally for over 10 years.

A: I work on 60s-70s rock music, psychedelic rock, country and blues
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Getting something that sounds unique, with passion and soul. Not stiff and devoid of life. My guitar parts will have depth and feeling (like Santana)
Q: What do you bring to a song?
