A: First pass loose for feeling, more arranged 2nd pass, a more inventive pass, comp edit for the best bits
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Vintage gretsch set-up with calf skins, schoeps or neumann overhead mics, dpa or ribbon ambient mics, dynamic mics for the BD, snare and toms. Lots of odd bits of percussion for overdubs if neccessary. Nagra, Calrec mic pres, Protools HD
