A unique mastering process for unique songs

I've been producing and mastering my own music and that of my mates for 4 years now. Over that time, I've been able to work on many different styles of music, from Hyperpop to Nu-metal, Trap, D&B and much more.
This experience means that I'm now able to understand the codes of different trendy and/or underground music styles, so that I can make a mastering that suits the needs of the track and your expectations.

Interview with absun_mastering

  1. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  2. A: You should trust your ears, not your eyes. Don't look at the gauges or other visual indicators, just listen to what you're doing and you'll see that you'll get better results.

  3. Q: What's your typical work process?

  4. A: Every mastering project is different, but I usually start by listening to the track(s) once to understand the artist's intention and identify any potential ‘technical errors’. Then I move on to more detailed processing to enhance the track(s).

  5. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  6. A: I work on a MacBook Pro M1 with Fabfilter, UAD, Elysia, Pulsar Audio, and more. For monitoring, I recently purchased a pair of Adam S2Vs, which I consider to be one of the best pairs of speakers I have ever tested. They are connected to an Apollo Solo using a pair of Mogami cables. All of my equipment is installed in a room whose acoustics have been optimised using mineral wool panels ranging in thickness from 20 to 40 cm.
