Interview with ColoXus

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I was assistant mixing engineer on NAHIR (Amazon Prime), and music editor on Chespirito: Sin Querer Queriendo (HBO Max). These experiences shaped my detail-focused approach to sound and storytelling.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I’m currently producing new music for my artist project ColoXus. I recently released my remix album WHAT IF, featuring six tracks with distinct styles. I'm also developing new original material and preparing upcoming releases.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Not at the moment, but I’m always open to collaborating and recommending other great professionals once I get to know them.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: I enjoy both. Digital offers speed and flexibility, which is essential for my workflow, while analog brings depth, warmth, and unpredictability that adds soul to a track. I often combine the two for the best of both worlds.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: To treat your project as if it were my own — with care, creativity, and professional standards. My goal is for you to feel confident and excited about the final result.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: Turning an idea or emotion into a finished song. Helping an artist find their sound and seeing them proud of the result is incredibly rewarding.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Q: Can I use the track as my own? A: Yes — once the project is complete and fully paid, all rights are transferred to you unless we agree otherwise.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That ghost production or co-production lacks creativity. In reality, it’s about understanding someone else’s vision and elevating it through experience and emotion.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What artists inspire you? What emotion or energy do you want your track to have? What’s the final goal for the project (release, sync, performance)?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Be clear about your vision and references. The more we understand your goal from the start, the better I can deliver something that truly represents you.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Ableton Live, a good laptop, headphones, Serum synth, and FabFilter Pro-Q 3.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I’ve been producing electronic music for over 7 years. I started in post-production audio, working on series and documentaries (HBO, Amazon), and shifted into full-time music production as my own artist (ColoXus).

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Melodic, emotional, and clean. I aim to tell a story through textures, harmony, and structure — balancing dancefloor energy with musicality.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I’d love to work with Martin Garrix. He was the artist who inspired me to dedicate my life to music production. I truly admire his sound, versatility, and how he blends energy with emotion across genres.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Less is more — great tracks come from intentional choices. Don't overcrowd your mix. Give each element space to breathe and serve the emotion of the track.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Melodic electronic music: progressive house, melodic techno, deep house, Techno, EDM.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Melodic electronic production with emotional depth and clarity. I’m detail-oriented and always aim for release-quality sound.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: Emotion, atmosphere, and polish. I focus on clean, powerful sound design, professional arrangement, and textures that elevate the track’s identity.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I start by understanding the artist’s vision. Then I build the track from the ground up — from sound design and composition to arrangement, mixing, and mastering. Constant feedback is key.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I work with Ableton Live 12 and a collection of top-tier plugins like Serum, Diva, FabFilter, Soundtoys, and Ozone for mastering.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Martin Garrix, Skrillex, Brooks and Ben Böhmer. Their ability to mix emotion, atmosphere, and technical depth is what I aim to bring into every track I work on.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: Full electronic music production (ghost/co-production), mixing, mastering, and sound design — mainly for independent artists and DJs looking for a professional, melodic sound.
