Bouke Veeger on SoundBetter

Put the extra step and make your music sound professional, for a lower price! Hi! I’m Bouke Veeger, based in Amsterdam. With two music degrees and years of experience in dance music, I deliver mixes and masters that hit hard, sound clear, and move people.

I’ve spent years studying music — I’ve got two degrees in it — and even more time producing, mixing, and finishing tracks. I care about both the technical side and the vibe of the music, and I always aim to make sure your track hits hard, feels right, and sounds solid wherever it’s played.

I’m easy to work with, give honest feedback, and don’t mind a bit of back and forth to get things where they need to be. Whether you need a master or help tightening up a mix, I’ve got you.

Bouke is one of the chillest people I’ve ever worked with! His flexibility makes it easy to bring any idea to life. He’s incredibly fast, kind, and creative — in my eyes, one of the underrated gems on this platform!

Interview with Bouke Veeger

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: Right now, I’m mixing a few melodic house tracks and mastering some techno releases. It’s all about keeping the energy tight and the vibe immersive.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: I promise to listen closely to your vision, communicate clearly, and work until you’re happy with the result — no shortcuts.

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: Helping someone’s track come to life and really feel the energy it deserves — that moment when everything clicks and sounds right is the best.

  7. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  8. A: People think it’s just about making things louder or adding effects. But mixing and mastering is really about balancing all the parts so the song sounds clear, emotional, and ready for any system.

  9. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  10. A: Hmm, definitely my Macbook Pro, my audio interface, my moog subsequent37, a prophet synth and a nice barista coffee machine

  11. Q: What's your typical work process?

  12. A: I usually start by listening to the track a few times, getting a feel for what it needs. Then I dive into the mix, focusing on balance and energy. After that, I polish the master so it sounds great everywhere — from headphones to club systems.

  13. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  14. A: I currently work between multiple studios. I have a small writing setup with multiple synths (and a coffee machine) where I do most of my productional work. For mixes and masters, I move to a second studio which is acoustically treated and has waaaay better speakers

  15. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  16. A: I usually ask about their vision for the track, references they like, what they feel is working or not working now, and any deadlines or special needs they have.

  17. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  18. A: I have been doing this for quite a while now! I started out producing music since 2016, and started world-renowed the Herman Brood Academy in 2020. After graduating in 2023, I started my next degree in music at the conservatory of Amsterdam, which I graduated from in 2025

  19. Q: How would you describe your style?

  20. A: Clean, punchy, and spacious — I like mixes that breathe but still hit hard on the dancefloor.

  21. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  22. A: Less is often more — if your mix feels cluttered, try muting tracks and adding them back slowly. Sometimes cutting a few elements brings more power to the whole.

  23. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  24. A: Dance music is my sweet spot — melodic house, progressive, techno, and deep electronic styles.

  25. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  26. A: I’d say my strongest skill is balancing technical precision with musical feel — making sure the mix is clean and polished but still full of emotion and groove

  27. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  28. A: I bring clarity, punch, and a deep understanding of dance music dynamics. My goal is to enhance your track’s vibe while keeping your original vision intact.

  29. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  30. A: I’m inspired by artists who blend technical skill with emotion, like Lane 8, Camelphat, and Nora En Pure.

  31. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  32. A: I mostly mix and master dance tracks, from melodic house to techno and everything in between. I focus on making sure every element hits hard, sounds clear, and works perfectly on club systems and streaming platforms.
