Hey! I am a bassist with a passion for writing and arranging music. I will bring your music to life with orchestrations for any ensemble you wish. I am particularly familiar with jazz music, including big band and smaller ensembles. My arrangements have been featured on albums and played by major bands in my local scene.

Hey! My name is Nick Ford, and I am a jazz bassist from Cape Town, South Africa. As a performer I have had the pleasure of performing with many acclaimed and internationally recognised musicians, and in various musical theatre tours, both local and international. Aside from performing, I have a passion for composing and arranging. I have released my own music featuring unique compositions and arrangements for an assortment of ensembles, and arranged music for other artists' projects and many local bands.

I specialise in jazz arranging, particularly for jazz combos and big bands. I like to use a wide variety of unique instrumentations and am especially interested in the blending of different timbres to create new sounds which will pique the listener's interest.

I believe that arranging can be more than just expanding a composition for a larger ensemble - the arrangement brings a piece to life and is able to enhance and emphasise the artistic message behind it.
