Kevinology is a genre-fluid composer and producer blending classical roots, jazz fluency, and Korean traditional sounds. A Berklee alum and award-winning musician, he now works at LALA MUSIC, creating emotionally resonant works shaped by his Catholic worldview and a boundless curiosity for sonic storytelling.

Kevinology: A Boundless Approach to Sound

Kevinology is a genre-fluid composer, arranger, and pianist whose music blends classical depth, jazz fluency, and Korean soul. Born in 1991 into a devout Catholic family, he originally aspired to become a kindergarten teacher. But at 16, after winning the Excellence Award at the KBS Creative Children’s Song Contest, he felt called to pursue music.

By his late teens, he was already a finalist at the MBC Seo Deok-chul Children’s Song Festival (2008, 2009) and won the Grand Prize at the Music Education Newspaper Competition in 2009. He studied under Kang Hyun-deok, Noh Young-won, and Lim Dong-hyun before heading to Berklee College of Music in 2012, where he expanded into jazz, film scoring, and musical theater under mentors like Yoko Miwa and David Harris.

He later led Yeoul, a fusion band reinterpreting Korean traditional music, and earned further accolades—including the 2016 Grand Prize at KBS and the 2018 Silver Award at the Yun Dong-ju Creative Music Festival.

Since 2021, Kevinology has worked as a producer at LALA MUSIC. His sound defies boundaries—shifting from orchestral writing to gugak-infused electronica—all rooted in storytelling and emotion. He doesn’t just write music. He reframes how it’s heard.
