Club-focused producer

namu on SoundBetter

I'm a club-focused producer with credits on FOAM and Diverse System. I create genre-blending tracks with detailed sound design, hard-hitting mixdowns, and emotional depth. I offer full track production and trend-aware mixing to help bring your vision to life.

I'm nxvb, a music producer and composer based in Japan with a background in both commercial and underground music scenes. I’ve worked with respected labels such as FOAM and Diverse System, where I’ve released tracks known for their sharp sound design and genre-crossing energy.

I specialize in producing full tracks from scratch, custom beats, and mixes that sound fresh and modern—tailored for artists working in hyperpop, DnB, trap, garage, and other electronic subgenres. My focus is always on creating music that not only sounds great, but feels alive.

With experience ranging from club-ready bangers to more atmospheric, melodic productions, I understand how to balance technical quality with emotional impact. Whether you're a vocalist needing a unique backing track or a label looking for a standout compilation piece, I can help craft a sound that's both current and personal.

If you're after clean, expressive, and genre-aware production with attention to detail, let’s work together and bring your sound to life.

Interview with namu

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: On the personal side, I’m proud to have participated in FOAM’s All Nighter compilation in the same year as Virtual Riot. It was an honor to be part of these releases alongside such talented artists.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Currently, in addition to my usual commercial music work, I’m producing Vocaloid tracks and trying out a new genre called rally house.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I don’t have a specific recommendation right now, but I encourage clients to explore SoundBetter and find someone who fits their style.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: I use both digital and analog gear because each brings something special. Analog gear can create unexpected, unique sounds, while digital tools offer precision and flexibility. Combining both helps me craft interesting and polished music.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I promise to deliver great-sounding tracks that match your vision, with clear communication and timely delivery.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: What I like most about my job is the ability to turn emotions and ideas into sound. I love experimenting with sound design and blending genres to create something fresh and unique. Every project is a chance to tell a story or capture a mood, and helping artists bring their vision to life is incredibly rewarding.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: What questions do customers most commonly ask me? People usually want to know how long it’ll take, how many edits they can request, and if I can handle their style. They also ask about my setup and what kind of sounds I like to create. What’s my answer? I tell them I’m flexible with timelines (within reason), usually allow up to five revisions, and love working across genres. I encourage open communication and always try to bring their ideas to life while adding my own creative touch.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: A lot of people think that melodies or tracks just come to me fully formed, but in reality, I work very carefully, checking every single note step by step. It’s a detailed and patient process rather than some sudden inspiration.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What’s the overall vibe or mood you’re going for?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: When you’re looking to hire someone like me, just be honest about what you want and don’t be afraid to share examples or ideas. Good communication makes everything way easier and helps get the track sounding exactly how you imagine. It’s all about teamwork, so keeping an open mind and giving clear feedback really makes a difference. Let’s make something great together!

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Laptop, DT770Pro, a portable power bank, an umbrella and a solar-powered fan to stay cool while I make fire track.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I’ve been producing for about 7 years, including 3 years working in a music agency creating commercial tracks. Now I focus on build my own unique sound.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Energetic and eclectic, blending hyperpop intensity with club-ready drops. I love mixing glossy synths, heavy bass, and distorted textures to create a sound that feels chaotic but emotional.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Skrillex. His sound design is always one step ahead of everyone else in the world, and I’d love to learn from that energy and creativity.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: People say “EQ isn’t a real fix—you should solve problems in the arrangement.” That might work if you’re going for a clean mix, but rules aren’t everything. I believe in chasing the sound you truly love, even if it means using “wrong” EQ moves or pushing things into distortion. If the vibe is right, how you got there doesn’t matter.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I mainly work on club and electronic genres, but my background in commercial music production allows me to handle a wide variety of styles with flexibility and precision.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: My top skill is combining cutting-edge sound design with emotionally-driven production. I make tracks that are both unique and impactful — perfect for modern listeners and club settings.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I add unique textures, emotional impact, and genre-fluid energy to songs. My background in club music and sound design helps me shape tracks that are both sonically exciting and emotionally resonant.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I usually start by chatting with the client about what kind of vibe or style they’re aiming for — references, moods, or key ideas. Then I get to work and send a rough version in about a week. We do a couple of revisions if needed, and I make sure the whole process feels smooth and collaborative.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I produce using Ableton Live and FL Studio, with many plugins for sound design and mixing. My setup includes iLoud Micro Monitors, DT 770 Pro headphones, and an Apogee Boom interface. I also use hardware like Ableton Push, Elektron Model: Cycles, and KO II for added creative flow.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I'm inspired by artists like Marshmello, Porter Robinson, pluko, Skrillex, and glaive — producers who blend emotional melodies with energetic, genre-defying production. Their work has influenced my approach to creating expressive, modern tracks with a strong sense of atmosphere and impact.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I’m most often hired to create club-ready remixes, full original tracks, and genre-blending beats in styles like hyperpop, DnB, trap, and garage. I also frequently provide mixing and sound design services, helping artists achieve a modern, expressive sound with attention to detail.
