    An unforgettable voice!
Her performance was absolutely breathtaking — a perfect mix of raw emotion, powerful delivery, and timeless soul. Rarely do you come across an artist who can move you this deeply while keeping the energy so alive. Truly a world-class soul singer — inspiring, magnetic, and unforgettable!

Interview with Aria Lanelle

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I'm so proud of my debut album. I wrote it, arranged it, produced it, and performed it. I was also the creative director for my visuals, and I assembled an amazing team.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I just released my debut album, so I'm promoting it.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: I think it depends on the energy, purpose, and vibe of the song. Something off of Tyler's "Igor" album might have been analog or analog-sounding due to the retro energy, but something off of Amaarae's latest album sounds best in digital due to the futuristic club vibe the album has.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: I promise to deliver professional, industry competitive vocals.

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: I love music and I love singing.

  11. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  12. A: They often ask me how quick my turnaround is, and I tell them around 48 hours.

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: That it's easy just because it looks easy. This is just the result of literally tens of thousands of hours of practice and execution.

  15. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  16. A: I ask what they're looking for this song to achieve and if it's being pitched as a demo for another artist (that way I can mimic their arranging style a bit).

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: I'd say to know what you want and be clear in your directions. Then, trust me as the professional to execute your vision.

  19. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  20. A: My mic, my laptop, my interface, my Mogami cable, and a water pitcher with a filter.

  21. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  22. A: I've been singing my entire life since I was about 3 or 4. Then I joined the church choir when I got a little older, started doing musical theatre, joined the school choir, joined the Boston Children's Chorus, did MMEA Northeastern Senior District choir multiple times, and then I got into Berklee College of Music. After graduating with honors, I won the John Lennon Songwriting Contest in the R&B division for my very first single as an artist, and then I was the vocalist on a House cover of "Saturday Love" that wound up distributed by Sony UK. I've been working in music ever since.

  23. Q: How would you describe your style?

  24. A: My style is very lush and layered, while still being vibrant and unique.

  25. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  26. A: I would love to work with Tyler The Creator, and of course, Beyoncé.

  27. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  28. A: Pay attention to your frequencies. So much beautiful intricacy can be lost if one vocal or instrument is masking another due to them existing in the same frequency.

  29. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  30. A: I usually work on a variety of music, from R&B to Pop to House.

  31. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  32. A: My strongest skill is singing and arranging.

  33. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  34. A: I bring confident vocal expertise and versatility. I love to sing and I'm good at it.

  35. Q: What's your typical work process?

  36. A: I make sure my voice is warmed up and clear, have the lyrics typed out in front of me, and I lay down a rough lead vocal. Then I arrange the backgrounds to make my own backing track, and fine-tune the lead performance via punch-ins (or just re-recording the lead from scratch).

  37. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  38. A: My studio setup is a monitor, my mic, an Alctron windscreen, my laptop, Logic Pro X, and a host of plugins (like Waves, etc).

  39. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  40. A: I am heavily inspired by Prince's work ethic, as well as Beyoncé's work ethic. I look up to great vocalists of the past who really honed their craft like Whitney Houston, Ella Fitzgerald, and other similar artists.

  41. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  42. A: I do session vocals for my clients. That includes lead vocals, backgrounds, demos for other artists, etc.
