the voice or writer you need to create your hits! :)
hii :)
i'm leea clem, a singer-songwriter from the veeery south of Italy. I've been in the industry for the past 4 years experimenting the thousands of roles that an independent artist has to have at the start of the career. During these few years, I've had the opportunity to work with professional and learn a lot from them. I've written for and with other people, I started to also get into production and I'm now taking a B.A. in Commercial Music at UWS (University of the West of Scotland).
I'm 20 as of right now and I'm now opening this new chapter of my life through this platform: I want to be able to work with more and more people and I want to help anyone who needs my help!
I obviously still have a lot to learn, but I'm an incredibly curious person so I always try to do my best to learn as much as possible.
I also love collaborating with the people near me by recording vocals they use in their productions and I would like to do the same here!
In less words than the ones I've already written, I'm here to help with:
- songwriting
- providing vocals for EDM music
- writing and singing hooks for artists or producers
- creating jingles for companies
i think that's all for now!
if you read everything.. thank you! I'm looking forward to work with you :))
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Interview with LEEA CLEM
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I would say this EP. I already published an album and I'm proud of it because I created it when I was 17 and wrote everything by myself, but I think that with this upcoming EP I really found my style. I wrote everything by myself again, but this time I was also co-producer on all of my songs and I have more control over the artistic direction, so I'm really proud of this.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm working on my next EP and I'm so excited about it. I actually finished my creative process and we recorded everything. Now I'm working with a graphic designer on the artwork of the EP and everything visual-related.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I just joined the platform and I've actually never used it before, but I'll try to get to know more and more people!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I don't think you can actually choose one or another. Each one has its pros and cons :)
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise you to take very seriously my job and to best represent your idea. I want to give you something you can be totally satisfied with, cause you're paying for a service and you deserve to have the exact thing you request.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The ability to express myself and connect with others. Music is something that can create a connection beyond any limit... the emotions that a song can carry have no language or geography.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it is not a real job. Being a singer-songwriter is a real job just like any other job. It can be mentally draining and is not as easy as people outside the industry think it is. A lot of thought and research go into the creation of a song if you want to make it professional and pleasing to the ear.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Depends on the kind of work they are requesting, but usually I ask if they have any references that I could listen to, so that I can better understand their vision. I would also ask about their previous experiences, but everything really depends on the client.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Try your best to describe your idea. As professionals, we do our best to create the exact product you look for, but if you don't explain yourself in the right way it is impossible for us to connect with you.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My phone because I could listen to music and also use the memo app I constantly use to record ideas that quickly pop into my brain. My acoustic so I could spend hours playing it and writing songs with it. My Macbook and my midi controller so that I can work on beats for the ideas I catch with my phone. My microphone to record my vocals... I'll try to sneak in the audio interface too.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I'm working to become an artist, I've been doing it for 4 years, but this last year has been the more serious one: I sang in the third biggest stadium in Italy, got interviewed by one of the biggest radios here and I'm about to publish my first EP with a whole new team. p.s. I think it's my best work yet.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I think my style as an artist mixes dark pop and R&B. I take a lot from Ariana Grande, Tate McRae and Gaia Gozzi if you want a more direct idea!
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Ariana Grandee!! I know I've said her name like a thousand times inside all of these questions, but believe me when I say that she really shaped me as an artist and as a person. I learnt a lot from her just by watching videos of her in the studio and working with her would be my absolute ultimate dream.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Start from a reference and then experiment! When I write a song, I imagine a specific vibe for it and I listen to other songs that are in the same vibe. Once I choose the 2 or 3 songs that best represent the direction I'm taking for my song, I take some elements from those to make something completely new for mine.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: It's mainly pop music with R&B features. The R&B sound influences my vocals a lot since I've listened to Ariana Grande my whole life, but I also listened to a lot of Alicia Keys, Beyonce and Whitney Houston when I was little so the R&B mixed with pop has really become part of me.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: If you ask me I would probably say that my social skills are my strongest skills. I'm a really empathetic person, that's why I always make sure that I connect and understand my client very well, so that I can represent them in the most genuine version possible. If you ask people around me (professionals and non-professionals of the industry) they would say that my strongest skill is the creation of catchy tunes. I listen to a loooot of pop music (and I did for as long as I can remember), so the idea of creating a catchy tune that gets stuck in someone's brain has always come easy to me. I've improved that through the years and now I'm really implementing that in every song I write.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring what my client wants. My job here is to create something that both satisfies my client and the industry. I create catchy tunes with impactful lyrics and I try to really bring my client's essence into the song.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I connect with the client to understand in the best way possible what I can help them with. I want to have all the necessary information so that I can create a track that is perfect for what they are looking for. After I have gathered all the details I get to work and create some little drafts that I can then send to my client to be completely sure about the direction to take. Once they agree with the ideas I'm proposing, then I get back to work and finish my track!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a little home studio with a Focusrite audio interface, my Macbook Air (with Logic Pro and Ableton Live), a AT2020 microphone with its pop filter and its stand, a midi controller (Arturia Key Essential), a digital piano and some guitars. I also have access to a more professional studio which has a Neumann 102 microphone, Apollo audio interface, a Macbook Pro and a Prophet rev2 along with all the other basics for a producer.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Ariana Grande has been my biggest inspiration since I was 7. Her way of singing, using harmonies and performing really shaped my personality as an artist. Her lyrics also have had a very great impact on my way of writing: I love to add metaphors, ironic lines and deep meanings in my songs. Another big inspiration for me is Tate Mcrae, her powerful performances and hit songs are a great inspiration for me.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Songwriting: I help my client by bringing their song idea to life. We discuss, genres, themes and references so that I can make the song that can best suit them. Top line/hook creation: I discuss references with my client and I get to work to create the catchiest melody and lyrics for their track. Youtube cover: I provide the client with a full cover (beat included) after discussing the type of vibe they look for in the song. I work with a producer to create the perfect beat.
