Interview with lilboicasper

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I’m especially proud of a project where I worked with an artist Juice WRLD. My role was mixing, mastering, and shaping the vocal style to capture that emotional, melodic rap vibe Juice was known for. I made sure the vocals sat perfectly in the mix, giving the track that polished but raw feel. It reminded me why I love this work—helping artists express emotion in a way that really connects.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I’m currently working with independent artists on hip-hop and emo rap projects, focusing on vocal mixing and mastering for upcoming singles and EPs.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Right now I mainly focus on my own services, but if a client needs something outside my scope, I’m always happy to recommend trusted engineers or producers I’ve worked with in the past.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital, because it gives me flexibility, speed, and access to industry-standard tools anywhere. That said, I like to add analog-style warmth in the mix to keep things feeling real.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: My promise is to always treat your music like it’s my own. I’ll give it the attention, detail, and creativity it deserves so you walk away with a track you’re proud to release.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I love taking raw vocals or a rough mix and transforming it into something that feels alive and professional. Hearing an artist’s excitement when they get the final track is the best part.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: "how long will this take?" usually a couple of hours. mixing and mastering

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That mixing and mastering can “fix” a bad recording. The truth is, quality starts at the source. Clean vocals and solid production make the best results possible.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I ask about their influences, what vibe they’re going for, and how they want their vocals to feel in the mix. I also ask for any reference tracks.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Be clear about your vision and share references. The more I understand the sound you’re aiming for, the better I can bring it to life.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Laptop, audio interface, condenser mic, headphones, and a MIDI keyboard. That’s all I’d need to keep creating.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I started as an artist myself, recording my own vocals and experimenting with mixing. Over time I realized I loved the production side, so I studied and practiced until I could do it professionally. I’ve been at it for 7 years now.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: My style is emotional, clean, and modern. I like to make songs feel atmospheric while keeping the artist’s voice as the centerpiece.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I’d love to work with Iann Dior because his sound blends rap and melody in a way that inspires me. I feel like my vocal production style would match perfectly with his vibe.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Less is more. Instead of stacking too many plugins, focus on using EQ and compression properly first. A clean mix always beats an over-processed one.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I mostly work on hip-hop, emo rap, and melodic trap, but I’m comfortable with pop and R&B as well.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: My strongest skill is vocal mixing and tuning. I know how to bring vocals forward in the mix while keeping them natural and expressive.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring emotion, energy, and clarity. My goal is to make sure the artist’s story and voice shine through while the production feels polished and professional.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: start by listening carefully to the client’s vision and references. Then I clean up the recordings, mix with balance and depth, add creative effects if needed, and master for clarity and impact.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I work from a treated home studio with professional-grade monitors, an audio interface, condenser mic, and industry-standard software/plugins. Everything is set up to capture clean recordings and deliver high-quality mixes.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I’m inspired by Juice WRLD, XXXTentacion, and Iann Dior. Their emotional honesty and unique production styles push me to create music that connects deeply with listeners.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: mostly work on mixing, mastering, and vocal production. I focus on making vocals cut through the mix and giving songs a polished, radio-ready sound.
