Diyite

Anonymous Musician & Producer

Diyite on SoundBetter

Looking for a unique and vibrant musical sound? Are you a singer or rapper who wants an instrumental built around your vocals, mixed and mastered for an affordable price? Whether you need a full instrumental or just some piano, I've got you covered.

As an independent musician and producer, I use music to express myself anonymously. I specialize in creating beats and instrumental music. All my music is made using MIDI with the occasional sample.

My self-released music is all instrumental because my aim is to tell stories without using words. A picture can tell a thousand words, but a song can paint a thousand pictures.

Do you have a bunch of lyrics and melodies but no track to put them on? I can build an entire instrumental for your vocals, mix and master it all for an affordable price.

I'll let you in on a secret... I'm completely self-taught. I started producing as a hobby around 5 years ago, then in 2024 I decided to work toward making it my full-time job.

If you want an idea of my skill level, listen to the sample tracks on this page. Those are songs I wrote from scratch with MIDI, then mixed and mastered myself. If you like what you hear, then why not get in touch?

I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Interview with Diyite

  1. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  2. A: My music is usually a blend of genres, mainly R&B, jazz, hip-hop and Haitian konpa. You can also hear influences of rock and EDM.

  3. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  4. A: My song "Hope From Ashes". I feel there was a big step up in technical skill from my previous music. Also I poured a lot of emotion into that song, and it reflects accurately how I was feeling at the time.

  5. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  6. A: Be clear with what you want. If you can, provide some kind of starting point like a vocal recording or a chord progression. What I create will be a combination of audio files you send me, MIDI, and the occasional sample.

  7. Q: How would you describe your style?

  8. A: Jazzy, soulful, playful.

  9. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  10. A: Mereba. She's one of my favorite living artists. While she has a lot of acoustic music, she also sings and raps on beats. My music is pretty DAW heavy so we would be more compatible than most of my other favorites, who usually make acoustic music.

  11. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  12. A: Don't overcomplicate things. Only add or change something if it improves the end result. The average listener doesn't care what send you sidechained where. All they think about is whether they enjoy listening to it. Your job as a producer is to make that happen without the listener having any idea how much time and effort it took.

  13. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  14. A: Dedication, genuine love for music, my own unique style, knowledge of many genres, attention to detail, originality, and soul.

  15. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  16. A: M'Pongo Love because she pushed through so many barriers in her career. She was one of the first female singers in Congo where music is still male dominated to this day. She performed live in spite of physical disability and created some of the most beautiful and vibrant music I've ever heard.

  17. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  18. A: I prefer digital to analog software. Digital is more practical in most cases and it opens so many possible sounds However, there's nothing quite like the sound of a real acoustic instrument. I need to pick up my guitar to ground myself before I even touch a computer.

  19. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  20. A: No half measures. I take a lot of pride in what i create and I won't settle for anything less than the best of what I'm capable of. My standards for what i create are very high and constantly getting higher. You won't have any regrets about hiring me.

  21. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  22. A: People don't realize the combination creative talent and technical skill that goes into this. I would compare music production to architecture for that reason.

  23. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  24. A: Can you describe your vision for this project? What kinds of emotions do you want to make the listener feel? What are you hoping for me to contribute? Can you show me what you've got so far? What will the track be used for?

  25. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  26. A: Music has always been a part of my life. As a teenager I taught myself drums and piano. Around 5 years ago I started making beats as a hobby. I realized that music production is the only career I can see myself in. Since last year I've been working towards making it my full time job.

  27. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  28. A: I love music, there's nothing I'd rather do for a living. I also like being my own boss.

  29. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  30. A: Laptop, headphones, acoustic guitar, mini keyboard, backup hard drive. And maybe a sharp stick to protect myself from the wildlife.

  31. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  32. A: Writing and arranging beats and instrumental tracks.

  33. Q: What's your typical work process?

  34. A: Create an 8-bar loop which sets the tone and style of the song. Over the next few days, build the rest of the instrumental around that. Go over the whole song several times adding variation and tweaks. Leave it overnight then get to work on mixing and mastering.

  35. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  36. A: My time is split between making my own music as Diyite, making beats to sell online, and client work. Aside from that I'm creating artwork for my music and social media promotion.

  37. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  38. A: There's a lot on my wish list, but at the moment I just have my laptop, Pro Tools, a 25-key midi controller and an acoustic guitar for coming up with ideas. A good producer can make a professional sounding song without a ton of expensive equipment. I wouldn't complain if I had my own million-dollar studio, though.
