I love mixing songs and helping bands and artists achieve a polished final mix that not only sounds great but has life and breathes. I especially love live instruments and performances that are tracked with a band in a room approach. I embrace microphone bleed and welcome projects that were tracked in bedrooms or hotel rooms etc.
I think that I have a lot to offer at the mix stage for independent bands and artists that are micing up drums and guitars, funky old pianos and anything that makes noise when played by a musician. I am very song oriented and will always believe that the mix should support the original intent of the song. I have learned a ton over the years recording and mixing local bands in my small studio space which has a funky, creative vibe that bands, artists love but definitely not an ideal recording space. My belief is that an honest, inspired performance captured in a less than ideal environment through affordable gear always wins over a so-so performance captured in the perfect room through all the most fanciest gear.
