Interview with StenbækMusic
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Queens of the Stone Age because they are incredible!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Sidechaining is wonderful Eq your reverbs Clipping drums is awesome - so is parallel compression
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock and Pop
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I am very interested in all kinds of music and really listen to my client's song and try to understand the intention of their art.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a clean and punchy sound to rock mixes. I am in love with the sound of snare drums and I think drums are super important for the sound of a good mix. The backbone of music is the rhythm section and that's often where I start my mixes.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start by sorting the tracks and make busses for everything needed. Then I go on to listening to the track and get an overview of the track and the artistic vision of the artists. I think the most important part of a mix is to understand the music you are mixing.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I mix and master in Logic Pro and use Yamaha HS5 speakers for checking how wide and bright my mixes are. I mainly mix with my Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro headphones.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mix and master songs for my clients and make their songs ready for upload on streaming and radio plays. I also have a 20 years of experience as a musician, and know my way around a songs structure and the creative visions that go into making a song. I will try my best to understand the creative vision of my client's songs to make their art shine.
