I’m Finn, a producer and sound designer based in Berlin and signed to Warner Chappell. I graduated from the Wisseloord Academy, where I graduated as a sound designer, mixing engineer, and songwriter. I also graduated from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, specialising in electronic music. My work is built on rhythm, low end, and space.
My work is built on rhythm, low end, and space. I focus on how drums, groove, and sound design interact with the vocal, making sure a track carries weight and stays clear. I work across hip-hop and electronic music, from house to breakbeat. I'm a sensitive person so I like to work on mood and feeling. Especially the drums are my strong point. Over the years I learned myself to produce different genres cause I get bored if I only focus on one.
Since my graduation I dove more into the electronic spectrum of sound and recently I moved to Berlin to chase this dream. I release music as FINN99 and founded the collective Valeur.
I deliver full productions, co-productions, and ghost productions, and can provide targeted feedback at any stage. I also record live guitar or bass lines when a track needs an organic layer to push it further.
Lastly, I only charge a one-time upfront fee for production services - no backend royalties, no contracts with you signing away the profits of your song. The fee I will quote you buys out the master recording completely, no further payments - you are free and clear to do with it as you wish.

Interview with FINN99
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: New FINN99 material, productions for artists moving between hip-hop and electronic music, and projects with my collective VALEUR.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Know the direction of your track. Even a few reference points help me work much faster and more accurately.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop with Ableton, audio interface, Sequential Take 5, a guitar, and one good dynamic mic.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I studied at the Wisseloord Academy as a sound designer, mixing engineer, and songwriter. Then I graduated from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in electronic music. I’ve been producing for years and now work from Berlin, signed to Warner Chappell.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Decide early what the track doesn’t need. Most songs get better the moment you remove the extra layers.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: A mix of hip-hop and electronic music—house, breakbeat, club-driven ideas. Anything where rhythm matters.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Rhythm and sound design. Especially the relationship between drums, bass, and voice.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start with references and try to understand what the vocal or main idea needs. Groove and low end come first. Once that feels right, the rest falls into place.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I keep it simple: Ableton, a Sequential Take 5, some Novation gear, guitars, bass, and an SSL front-end. I don’t collect gear. I use what pushes ideas forward.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m drawn to the UK scene—producers who keep things raw, rhythmic, and spacious. People who understand that a track can be heavy without being crowded.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most people come to me for production, co-production, or shaping the rhythmic backbone of a track. I also get asked a lot to clean up arrangements and make the vocal sit properly.
