Hannah Marshall works & plays in music & sound, performance & audio-visual.

A 'Cellist, Trained at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama and since has been Involved in free-improvisation and experimental music, as well as composing music for theatre and performance. Hannah's playing carves pathways into noise and micro-tonality, as well as standard harmonic aspects of the 'Cello, where melody, texture, rhythm & tonality blur. She plays at times with traditional sensibility, and at others times treats the instrument as a collection of parts to be manipulated and re-analysed, often combining the two. ​She has travelled from Brazil to Russia and across Europe performing and collaborating with experimental musicians for 20+ years.

She can offer a versatile approach to session music and recording projects, being able to conjure up a huge variety of sounds and qualities with the cello. As well as being extremely comfortable with scores, she is equally comfortable improvising, creating unique textural and melodic material for projects.
