Interview with Youri
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Musicproduction; creating songs for vocalists and bands or ghostproducing for other producers and DJ's. I also do a lot of mixing and mastering.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Writersblock. Doens't exist.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Working fast is great but never rush things.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Popmusic or electronic dance music. But I come from more agressive and loud music like heavy rock and drum'n bass so I also enjoy working on that.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Everything from programming, keys, beats, bassguitar, guitar & vocals.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: If I get a demo delivered I work with that. If not I start from scratch and send an early demo to the client to get approval.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I have a few longterm jobs as a ghostproducer for a couple of producers/DJ's. All other clients just hire me through wesbites just like this one.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Started playing bass when I was 14, studied bass, piano and musicproduction 'till I was 22 and started doing professional musicproductions about 10+ years ago.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. But analog is just still not as good as digital ;)
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: It's making music all day. What's there not to like?
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: One of the first questions is probably if there is a deadline or not.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don't worry if I can do it or not because I can.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Probably just a guitar, it's actually the only thing I need to make music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: People say that I'm very professional, creative and organised.
