Interview with W.A.I. Sounds

  1. Q: What's your typical work process?

  2. A: It depends on the type of work. If it’s producing a track from scratch, the first thing to do is to propose at least 2 different ideas and after the client chooses one we start working on the full track. Production work process: 1 Make the track Idea 2 Finish the track details 3 Record Vocals 4 Mix 5 Check for changes with the client 6 Master

  3. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  4. A: In the main studio we use OS X as our operative system, our monitor references are 2 Yamaha HS8, 2 Adam A7X and 2 KRK Rokit 5, Apollo Twin interface, pair of API 512 preamps, a distressor, avalon ad2044 compressor and a Lexicon reverb. Microphones: Baby Blue, a Rode NT200 and pair of akg 414

  8. A: Ofo Barher, He’s the one that showed me this page, great producer and engineer His Profile: https://soundbetter.com/profiles/19459-ofo-barher

  9. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  10. A: Same except for preamps! because digital plugins have evolved to the point that they can give us almost the same sound as the analog ones. I think analog preamps are the ones that really make a change because you can feel the different textures it give to your recordings.
