Can M. Arman is 27 years old composer for classical orchestral film music as well as for classical autonomous music. He specialised to combine elements of the orient and the occident into a classical symphonic orchestra sound, also is also specialised in writing music for film and theatre.

I am specialised in writing classical orchestral film music, as well as for classical autonomous orchestral music, world music and percussive music for different kind of short films, rescores, and advertisements.

If you need music for a animated short film, thriller, comedy, action, student-based short films or other kind of genres, I can provide you with the right music and sound for your film-production or if you need music for any kind of projects without a film. In addition I am specialised also in Arrangements and re-arrangments.

You get a full service, with a detailed "Cue-Sheet" and the right sound for your project. I am working with AVID Pro Tools 11 on Windows 7/Mac iOS and using Finale25 for writing scores and arrangements. Generally the processing time writing music for a film/-project depends on the length of the "project" but basically it takes within three or four weeks to complete, mixing and mastering the music for a film/non-film project without a written score. If you wish also a written score to the film or to projects without a film, the general processing time for the work will be one more week additionally.

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: At the moment, I am working on a rescore scene from "The Incredibles".

  3. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  4. A: I am open minded to collaborations every musical genre. So therefore I am a musician too, and also interest in, to work with other musicians, because music connects people.

  5. Q: What's your typical work process?

  6. A: After I got a client who wants music, I am going to think about the musical theme and musical structure. First, I am going to play on the piano and collecting ideas and always looking for new input. I am always looking for working on my own signature and being very authentic with my music.

  7. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  8. A: Of course, there are lot's of great professional musicians, who inspire me all the day, but I want to name just two. On the one hand, and top of the list of professional musicians is one of the most well known film music composer "Hans Zimmer". Technically and from the workflow he is one of the best producers I've every know. Regarding his workflow in film scoring and production as well as techniques in business, I really admire him and his knowledges. On the other hand Mr. John Williams - one of the "godfathers" of film music - is inspiring me on every single musical note. His knowledge about music and motion is phenomenal and legendary, in my opinion. All these great musicians are well known for their own signature, as well as transparency into film scoring. Of course, there are lot's of great professional musicians, who inspire me all the day.

  9. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  10. A: The last project I worked on, was to compose for an opening session as a Overture "Alpha Et Omega" for orchestra, choir and organ in Bonn. Alpha Et Omega was composed for the Holy Easter Mass in "Bonner Münster". I am very proud, that I could compose for this event, and had a great time with the musicians and the conductor to work on this music and present it as an opening session for the Holy Easter Mass in 2017.

  11. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  12. A: To write and produce a creative and personal music for my clients.

  13. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  14. A: The most thing I like of my job is the process of being creative and to compose and trigger emotions and just let the music speak for itself.

  15. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  16. A: To my prospective clients I ask what kind of music they want to into their projects, and how long time they expect from me to work and produce on the music.

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: Please contact me and lets talk about your goals and expectations. I am easygoing and down to earth person and have a broad knowledge in audio and motion, and film scoring, especially working with an orchestra or other classical instruments. I have very long experience working with musicians for example in small orchestras, or musical orchestras and can help you with in your production.

  19. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  20. A: It all began, as I was 8 years in 2001, to take classical piano lessons. It was the first time, that I got familiar with the sound of the classical music. Over the years I get familiar with different classical composers, especially with Johann Sebastian Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, and Haydn.During this time I learned lots of techniques and fast side reading and also the love to the classical church organ. Then parallel to the classical piano, in 2005 I began to take lessons by an organist where I got chances to perform in concerts. From 2007 till 2013 I experienced working with an musical ensemble where I also discovered later first interest in music for film scoring. Now I am 25 years old composer for classical orchestral film music as well as for classical autonomous music and I am specialised to combine elements of the orient and the occident into a classical symphonic orchestra sound. I am doing composing and producing now since 4 years. Over this time, I could collect a lot of experience in practical areas, as well as working with clients.

  21. Q: How would you describe your style?

  22. A: It actually depends on the desires of the clients, what kind of music they want to. In my opinion, I cannot describe my style, because it comes through out my work process.

  23. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  24. A: Never stop being creative, and never loose your motivation, don't force it, let it come through out your mind.

  25. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  26. A: I am working on classical orchestral film music with a connection of the orient and the occident. I really like the transition from the different kind of elements from the orient and the occident that creates interesting vibes and emotions. It actually also depends on the clients desires, what kind of music the client wants.

  27. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  28. A: One of my strongest skills is composing world music with classical elements and combinations of orient and the occident elements. Also I am strong in composing for classical church organ, choir, and arrangements for strings or piano, as well as the knowledge for audio and motion related to a film.
