My lyrics and songwriting have earned me hundreds of thousands of views on Tik Tok and streams on Spotify. Now, I want to help you accomplish the same thing. Whether it's ironing out a second verse, figuring out why a chorus isn't hitting the way you want it to, laying down vocals, or writing a killer melody, I want to help create something great.
My lyrics and songwriting have earned me hundreds of thousands of views on Tik Tok and streams on Spotify. Now, I want to help you accomplish the same thing. Whether it's ironing out a second verse, figuring out why a chorus isn't hitting the way you want it to, or fleshing out an idea into a full song, I can help you develop a song and have it ready for production.
I am also an accomplished studio singer with a smooth, John Mayer / Chris Martin style voice. I'd be happy to lay vocals down on your track and build out the harmonies. Do you need a male vocalist? Do you need help with harmonies? Let's build something together.
I host a weekly songwriting show and have featured artists like Briston Maroney, Carmody, Sam Lynch, Mini Trees, and more. Songwriting is more than a career for me and I care deeply about the music that you're making and the story that needs to be told.
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Ross was an absolute pleasure to work with. He created the most perfect song for my partner and I’s anniversary. He asked for the right details, integrated memories from our relationship and was happy to make revisions where required. My partner absolutely loved it :)

Ross was a great client. Was very clear about what he wanted and a great collaborator. A-1 gentleman.
Ross is an incredible songwriter with incredible flexibility, listened really well to what my vision was, and always presented me with multiple routes for me to choose from. He's extremely personable and comfortable to talk to, and I was able to open up about my songwriting to him. 10/10
Ross is awesome! He came to our session with heaps of ideas and asked questions about me as an artist to tailor those ideas to me and my music. I was extremely impressed!
Ross is an incredible musician with a soulful voice and the most beautifully delicate vibrato you've ever heard. As well as having gorgeous vocals, he is also a talented songwriter and storyteller. I highly recommend him for any project you're looking to create, he'll blow you away!
Interview with Ross Newhouse
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Jensen McRae, she's a fierce writer and an unbelievable singer
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I sing through a Sm7b. I have done mic shootouts with thousand dollar microphones and for some reason the SM7B will always be the perfect mic for my voice. My guitars are a 000-15 Martin, a Gibson Les Paul, and a tiny nylon string guitar I call "the peanut"
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Bob Dylan, Jack Van Cleaf, Adam Melchor, Miya Folick
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I like to explore the gray areas of love and heartbreak. Somewhere between the widespread appeal of Coldplay, the melody and humor Paul Simon, and the honesty of Elliott Smith,
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Folk and indie, however I played in an RnB band and like to dive into that genre too. I recently discovered my knack for pop music as well. The cleverness of my folk lyrics and my sense of humor combined are wonderful for hooky pop lyrics.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Storytelling, wordplay, and songwriting. I've written hundreds of songs and helped artists do the same
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: A song should feel complete with only a few elements, the rest are complementary to those core sounds.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring clever, viceral storytelling that leaves the listener with a deep understanding of the artist behind the song
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Co-writes are the most common and the sessions I feel the most comfortable in.

I am new to the Soundbetter community so I'm going to do a per-song basis for price based on your needs and budgets. I'd like 50% of the songwriting share and would not take a percentage of the master
