Hi! My name is Leon Zai, and I am a trained Pop/R&B singer, songwriter. I graduated from the 1500 Sound Academy, and have been mentored by 1500 or Nothin' (James Fauntleroy, Rance Dopson). I've been writing with artists / writers in LA for the past 4 years, and am confident I can meet your musical needs in a variety of genres.

I am a songwriter, lead singer, music producer and sound engineer in a diverse field of music production. I have licensed dozens of songs to companies like MTV and Oxygen Network, written 50 records in the last decade and mixed to over 1,000,000 people and counting.

A recipient of the NY Women's Fund Grant, Joy has studied Voice for 16+ yrs, is credited with "impressive vocal control, free-flowing melodies & all around musicality" (RockDafuqOut), & is recognized by PopDust for writing a "canticle of female empowerment." Joy played over 50 Sofar Sounds shows, & opened for Ava Max, Sheryl Crow, & Social House.

I've worked big names in the industry like Stone Temple Pilots, The Gap Band, Chester Bennington, Rammstein, and many more. After spending 10 years in the industry I went back and got certified in Pro Tools and continue to daily challenge myself in mixing, editing, sound design, as well as engineering.
