Mixing & Mastering Engineers, Producers & Songwriters who worked with ZZ Top

We have mastered Oscar and Grammy winners, but don't charge major label prices. My name is Kevin Nix and I own L. Nix Mastering. I have over 30 years experience working on every style of music imaginable. I have top of the line, vintage outboard gear teamed up with state of the art DAW and best of all, great ears and experience.

Multi grammy award winning producer / mixer / dolby atmos mixer

40 years experience with multiple No. 1 singles and albums, credited on 160 billion streams (Muso.ai).

I am a live front of house engineer with 28 years of experience mixing every style of music.

Need a song or track that's guaranteed to get you a ton of streams? Then, let's talk! I write and produce for artists of multiple genres. I believe that music is only perceived as authentic when it aligns with the personality of the artist, which is why I take time to understand each of my clients and their goals for the project.

For over 35 years in the Music Business, I have been working as the right-hand man to artists such as Carly Simon, Aimee Mann, Fiona Apple & Susanna Hoffs (Bangles). I have worked as a Producer, Musical Director, Film & TV Composer, Session Guitarist, Writer & Arranger. I have a penchant for coloring outside the lines.

With seven years in the industry, I create urban music blending coastal Latin rhythms with Anglo innovation like Kanye West. Influenced by CTangana, Rosalía, Ralphie Choo, and Álvaro Díaz, I craft concepts that extend beyond music. My goal is fresh, timeless tracks marked by cohesive songwriting & production.

I'm a Nashville based producer, mixing, and mastering engineer specializing in country, pop, rock and everything in between, using a songwriting centric approach and mindset with my projects. Working with up and coming singer-songwriters and artists from Nashville to New England, I've built a solid and diverse portfolio spanning over 150 releases.
