Songwriter / Vocalist

Mia on SoundBetter

Hi! I'm Mia. I'm a professional songwriter working in LA. I have had major label, film, and TV placements. * I have worked with iconic songwriters such as Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds and Lamont Dozier. I have releases with Becky G (RCA/Kemosabe) and Lia Marie Johnson (Capitol). I wrote the Trolls (Netlflix/Dreamworks) theme song.

Services:

A) I can write a whole song (piano/vocal) — LYRICS & MELODY, (including a demo vocal).
B) I can write LYRICS to a melody you send me (including a rough vocal so you can hear how they work).
C) I can write only a MELODY over a track that you send me (including a recording of me singing the melody).
D) I can write both LYRICS & MELODY over a track that you send me (including a demo vocal from me).
E) I can cut VOCALS for a completed song (includes a polished vocal).

*All songs I write/co-write I retain my publishing rights—percentage based on the project.

How it works:

-Send me a message and tell me about your project!
-As soon as the project is "funded"—I'll book a studio and get to work.
-When I'm finished, I'll send you an mp3 of my work.
-Once approved and funds are released, I will send the vocals (dry and/or a processed vocal), plus whatever else you need.
-Generally I can turn requests around in a max. 1 week. If you need it sooner, and my schedule allows, we can work out the details!

I want you to receive the best product possible, so I commit to giving each project my all.

Thank you! I can't wait to collaborate with you!

Interview with Mia

  1. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  2. A: I'll always give your project 1000%, and will work hard to make sure you are satisfied.

  3. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  4. A: Collaboration. Whether it's with someone who commissions a song, co-writing, or just crafting a final vision together...collaboration is my favorite thing about working in a creative arena.

  5. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  6. A: Be specific about what you want! And if you're not entirely sure, a good selection of musical reference tracks is always helpful!

  7. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  8. A: I attended the University of Southern California, where I majored in music (more specifically--songwriting!). I have been writing songs my whole life, but professionally I have been working in music and songwriting for 9 years.

  9. Q: How would you describe your style?

  10. A: When I'm writing for myself, I have been referred to as "Julia Michaels meets Drake"--rhythmic, melodic pop with conversational lyrics. I like to combine my love for hip-hop/R&B with my love for Swedish pop.

  11. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  12. A: I work on all types of genres—from bubblegum pop to R&B/hip-hop to children's music.

  13. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  14. A: My strongest skill is topline writing—crafting a memorable melody, with fitting concept and lyrics.
