I’m a producer, recording and mixing engineer working closely with independent artists to create records that feel real, focused and emotionally connected. My work is built on collaboration, performance and serving the song from start to finish. Trusted by Don Felder, Cristian Castro and working alongside multi-platinum producer Ken Caillat.
I specialize in crafting mixes for Rock, Blues, Singer-Songwriter and Contemporary Country that are defined by warmth, emotional impact, and undeniable analog depth. My purpose is simple: to make your recordings jump out of the speakers with vitality and punch, without sacrificing the song's story.
My sound is built around a hybrid workflow. Every mix is run through my Vintage Sony MXP3036 Analog Console, this foundation is enhanced by my outboard gear collection, featuring premium processing from API, Quad Eight, Urei, Groove Tubes, Manley, and DW Fern, ensuring your music gets the genuine tone that digital alone cannot replicate.
I combine this classic approach with modern editing and recall efficiency to deliver a flawless, world-class product.
I am the right choice if you need a mix that:
Has the dynamic range and clarity of a 70s-era classic, but with the competitive edge of contemporary recordings.
Preserves the authenticity of live drums, guitar tones, and organic instrumentation.
Is prepared to sit confidently next to major label releases in the Rock, Blues or Contemporary Country.
Let's get the most soulful and powerful sound possible for your record.

Interview with Uri Gelman
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One project I’m particularly proud of is an EP I produced, engineered, and mixed for The Mad Day Out, an acoustic rock trio. We recorded the songs live with minimal overdubs, focusing on performance, interaction, and feel. The band brought great songs and chemistry into the room, and those sessions allowed them to grow into their sound as a group. Seeing that evolution happen in real time, and helping them capture it, is something I’m especially proud of.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I’m always involved in several projects at once, collaborating with artists from different genres. Moving between projects keeps my perspective fresh and allows me to stay flexible and creatively engaged.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to show up as a creative partner, not just as a service provider. Making music is a collaborative process, and my role is to support, challenge when needed, and help artists perform at their best. The guiding goal is always to deliver a song that feels honest, intentional, and meaningful.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: The biggest misconception is the idea of “we’ll fix it in the mix.” While a good mix can enhance and elevate a song, nothing replaces a great performance. Recording with intention and emotion is what creates a connection with the listener.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I don’t have a fixed list of questions. I prefer to meet in person or schedule a call so we can talk openly about goals, expectations, influences, and the direction they’re hoping to take. That conversation helps me understand the artist and deliver results that truly reflect their vision.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is song driven and artist focused. I listen for emotion and meaning first, and let that guide my technical choices. My goal is for each mix to feel engaging and moving, helping the music tell its story and connect with the listener in an honest and natural way.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: My advice is to choose someone you feel comfortable collaborating with. Every artist has a unique story and perspective, and the more that’s shared early on, the easier it is to translate that vision into a finished record that feels authentic.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: I’d keep it simple: a guitar, a laptop, a small interface, an SM57, and a MIDI controller. That setup covers songwriting, recording, and basic production, and keeps the focus on creativity rather than gear.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: It’s hard to choose one artist, but David Bowie stands out. He was never afraid to push boundaries, evolve, and challenge expectations. I’m most inspired by artists who want to explore, challenge themselves, and grow beyond familiar territory, while staying true to their identity.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: When producing, I work across a wide range of genres, from rock and blues to world music, americana and genre blending projects. For remote mixing, I tend to work most often with artists in the rock and alternative space, while staying open to projects that value feel, energy, and strong songwriting.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio is built around a hybrid setup that combines the strengths of analog and digital, it allows me to shape the tone and character at the source, then use Pro Tools for editing and mixing. When tracking, I commit to sounds intentionally, using EQ and compression to get as close as possible to the final vision early in the process. This helps performances feel confident and keeps the production moving toward a cohesive final result.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I typically work on full productions, collaborating with artists from songwriting and development through recording and final mixes. My role is to support the creative process from start to finish and help deliver a cohesive, finished record.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I don’t see analog and digital as opposites. I work with a hybrid approach that allows me to combine the character and depth of analog with the flexibility and precision of digital. I choose tools based on what the song calls for.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: What I enjoy most is working closely with artists and helping them bring their ideas to life. Being involved in the creative process from early on to finished songs is deeply rewarding.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I began my career as a musician and gradually moved into producing and engineering through collaboration. Friends started asking me to help shape and finish their songs, and over time that work grew organically through word of mouth. I’ve been working professionally for over a decade, and my focus has always been on supporting artists and their creative goals. I believe the best results come from collaboration, patience, and an environment where artists feel heard and comfortable taking creative risks.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Prepare well but leave room for the unexpected. Some of the best moments come from experimentation and being open to happy accidents is what helps songs come alive.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is collaboration. I create a space where artists feel heard and supported, I listen carefully, communicate clearly, and help translate their ideas and emotions into. I’m not afraid to experiment and I see creative risk as an essential part of making records that feel alive.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Emotion and clarity. When I listen to a song for the first time I want to be surprised and be immersed in the story, that's my goal when I mix.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I talk to the artist, listen to their vision and I make sure we're all on the same page. Mixing is a collaborative effort and everybody's input is important and valuable.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: The Beatles, Bob Clearmountain, Ken Caillat just to name a few.
