I approach mixing with the ears of a songwriter/producer: my number one focus in any song is ensuring the emotional message comes through with each sonic choice.
I have been making music as a songwriter/producer since I was 13. This May I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Independent Recording and Production, solidifying nearly a decade of pursuing excellence in audio. I spent three months last year interning at Drop of Sun studios in Asheville, North Carolina, where I picked up invaluable experience in the world of collaborative and professional studio work, as well as assistant engineering credits with girlpuppy and Fust's latest releases. Highlights of my own projects in the past year also include mixing chrysalis's "dog songs" LP, recording/mixing Emma Harner's "Live From Meg's House" EP, and recording/mixing the live version of "people pleaser" by yeemz.
What sets me apart from other engineers is my experience as an artist. I know what it's like to offer up a song to someone who has the capability to change everything, and I know what it's like when they don't get it right. Striving towards authenticity with my own works is why I began learning to mix, and along the way I discovered an unbridled joy for the process of making the puzzle pieces fit together. I am intentional and curious, always in pursuit of the best way to uplift a given sound, whether it be dry and intimate, or screeching fuzzy noise.
