It was great working with Jimmy! Excellent music, production, and communication! Thank you!
Worked on two albums with Jimmy. His producing and mixing is amazing!
Jimmy is always professional, my guitar tone sits so well in the mix. My tone is always recognizable but at the same time totally works with the rest of the music. If there are any vocals involved, he gives them plenty of clarity but they never sound harsh. I can totally recommend Jimmy!
It is the biggest pleasure working together with Jimmy. His producing and mixing made my vision come true. So much details in vocal producing and vocal sound, it really made the difference!
Its always a pleasure working with Jimmy, he makes my home recordings sound like a professional record. He gives me some good advices on how to get better results, so I can improve constantly.
Absolutely professional, Jimmy took my songs to the next level, awesome!
I'm working with Jimmy for a long time now. He is a great producer and mixer. He always delivers something I'm happy with. His honesty improved my skills massively in the last couple of years.
Working with Jimmy is always a pleasure. He is such a good guy, professional and creative. His producing and mixing was always right. He made me sound amazing on big radio stations.
Jimmy is my go to mixing guy. His mixes are very musical and open. When I'm working with him, I have the feeling that he is really listening and taking care. More than often that was not the case with some providers in the industry.
Interview with Jimmy Kra
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: You will get unlimited revisions until your track is 100%. Communication is one of my top priorities. I will listen to you and your production carefully. If you ask me, I will give you advices and hints how to get better results, so you can develop as an artist and producer.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Somewhere between Pop and RnB, sweet highs and mids, punchy low mids and a compact bass.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: As a person: Listening carefully and understanding what you're looking for. Technically: Letting your vocals shine, sit well in the mix and being really lovely.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: 1. talking with the artist and producer about what they are looking for; 2. getting the session ready; 3. listen to the rough mix; 4. mixing in a musical and creative way, so I really enjoy the song - most of the time my clients like what I'm doing :)
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Typical hybrid setup. I stay in the box until it comes to adding flavor. My original 1176 Blue Stripe is great on vocals.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Developing young & talented artists. I had the luck to be around some breaking through acts when they were not successful. When they became successful, I got the experience what was working & why it was working.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Dua Lipa, because I think she's giving the listener spot on performances.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I always try to give it a musical, punchy and round feeling. I focus a lot on your vocal tracks, to let them sit nice in the mix. If you're giving me a reference, I am pretty sure I can sonically nail that reference.
