Christian was a pleasure to work with. He wrote a song for my independently produced musical and recorded voice art. The song is great. His voice is first rate. He even wrote lyrics that match the mood and feel of the scene perfectly. And all this was done quite quickly.
To top it all off, he is a really pleasant guy to work with. - check_circleVerified

Christian Erik is a greta vocalist with a unique gift: powerful, gritty vocals that convey emotion. He understood the needs of my song (which were complicated) and he delivered an inspiring and unique vocal take. He works hard, has great communication, and an all around great dude. Recommend

Interview with Christian Erik
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Singing on the Late Night Union album. It’s a kick-ass rock and roll record. I wrote several of the songs. I wrote all the lyrics and vocal melodies/harmonies. We recorded at the iconic Studio X with Legend Adam Kasper.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Whatever sounds best for the song. They both have awesome characteristics. Digital is so good now though, I don't think most listeners could tell the difference, and it's so easy to manipulate, mix, and edit digitally.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I fulfill my life’s purpose by singing and helping create something from nothing. I want to provide my clients with something wonderful that they can be proud of and share to create great life experiences bonded by music.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: How do you want it done? When do you want it done? Do you want it basically the way you sang it or do you want me to Soul-Power’ify it?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Stop reading these words and listen to samples of the music we posted for you. After you have carefully listened to the tracks, feel free to continue reading. My vocal reel kicks ass!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Drum kit, SM7b Microphone, recording Interface, Les Paul, solar generator for power
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Session singing has been my occupation for the last 10 years. I sang in musicals when I was a kid into my teens. I started singing in bands when I was a sophomore in High School. So...my path has been singing in plays, bands, classical vocal training in college while playing in a band, and continuing to play in a band during my "Working for The Man” years. I learned how to record, mix, and produce rock music by interning at Orange Whip studios in Santa Barbara and then building my own studio. Tons of trial and error. Lots of falling and getting back up.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Make the song awesome, amazing, and human...don't chase perfection - seek the most genuine emotion vibe possible.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock, Pop, Indie Rock, Southern Rock, Outlaw Country, Blues Rock, EDM
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Adding more power, truth and soul to the existing work of art. Making the listener feel the emotion of the song.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Truth, Emotion, Creativity, Soul, Grit, Power, and Dynamics.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a 3 room studio space. There is a main tracking room, an auxiliary tracking room, and a vocal space/mixing space. It's very serviceable and I am able to get a lot of different microphone placements.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Any person who works hard and has the goods to be a professional musician, especially if they are working on original music, inspires me.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Q - How soon can you do it? A - How soon do you need it?
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it’s easy.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Q - How soon can you do it? A - How soon do you need it?
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it’s easy.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am singing for as many people as possible and writing as much as possible. Also enjoying nature, exercise, reading, and meditation.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Whiskey, smoke, dirt, leather, fire, water, space, unison, and sex. But not limited to those things.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I am a professional singer and songwriter. I can write a song from scratch or sing exactly what I’m asked to sing. Power emanates from my pipes. The goal is to add soul and range to every song.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Listening is the most important part of the process. What is the song? What is it saying? How can I give it a genuine human feel with vocals in order to have the song connect with it's listeners. How can I best serve the song? The vocal track or tracks are mixed into the stereo files and returned to the client as a mix and the individual tracks are sent as mono files. I quickly do any requested changes.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will give your song my all - vocally, melodically, lyrically, and emotionally.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
