Hello. My name is Alex Larke and I have been composing, producing, mixing and mastering since 2002. In that time, I have had the privilege to work with not only great artists, but also with exciting, forward-thinking organisations. I am a Sony BMG & Universal published artist. I once represented the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest.
At the beginning of 2016, my daughter was born and the studio I had built in our home became earmarked for closure. It had to become a bedroom!
After my initial shock at being forced out by a small, loud person, the idea of The Sound Shack was born!
The Sound Shack is a purpose built, sound-proofed and acoustically treated professional-grade studio. I started from scratch and brought together great equipment in a sonically neutral environment, which results in perfect, accurate mixes and masters every time. It is conveniently located 25 minutes from London Kings Cross, in Hertfordshire.
I am a staunch advocate of Cubase and have been using it since the very start of my career. This doesn’t mean that I can’t accept work from other DAWs such as Logic, Ableton etc. On the contrary, it is rather easy to import works these other programs, without issues or compromises on the quality of the final product.
