Morgane Matteuzzi on SoundBetter

I had the chance to work as a singer and vocal arranger for Grammy awarded sound engineer Philip Larsen (Kylie Minogue), here on Soundbetter. My latest single for which I am the singer, songwriter and producer was playlisted on 'Couleur 3' (Swiss national public radio), I have also composed music for 'RTS' (National Swiss Television)

I'm an experienced vocalist, songwriter and producer from Switzerland, based in Berlin and would really love to help make your musical ideas come true :)

I studied vocals/opera at the 'Royal College of Music' in London (global no.1 for performing arts) and songwriting at 'BIMM' in Berlin. Moreover, I was honoured to have Royce Wood Junior (SOHN, Nao, Kwabs) teach me all aspects of music production.

As a singer, my specialty is to create harmonies and generate ''choir effects'' by over layering my voice. I also excel at writing all kinds of top line to suit the genre of my client's music. I am very versatile and able to use my voice in a vast array of styles. I record with a Neumann TLM103 , I am bilingual and fluent in French/English but can also get by in Italian/German. I sing in all 4 of those languages.

As a producer, my specialty is to create tracks in the style of FKA Twigs, Björk and Jack Garratt. I also produce atmospheric, neo classical compositions to which I love over layering my voice.

Amazing songwriter and producer, it was such a pleasure working on her song, it was quite a challenge too, and got to learn a bunch. Will definitely work for her again in the future.

Morgane mixed and mastered an experimental metal project for me over a pre-made trap beat. Sent screaming male vocals and deep voice w/ symphonic female vocals and guitar tracks. Made the song one full piece and mastered it wonderfully - not the easiest materials to work with and happy to do revision and completely accurate on all accounts - would recommend A++++

  3. Review by Jason Sidote

Hired Morgane to mix and master an experimental trap metal track, not an easy task. She tried to achieve the best possible results by suggesting we separate the mixed down drum track back to the individual instrument stems for proper sound forging and rearrange some sections for better song flow. Gave her creative freedom to experiment with vocal FX and made guitar distortion heavier, amazing subs. So cool and such fine work at the end - A+++ communication and product - highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing, Morgane blow me away with her ultra-magnetic voice. She was super professional. She was also nice enough to go the extra mile. I enjoyed the whole experience.

  5. Review by Jason Sidote

Wonderful producer and mixing engineer - spent detailed time working on snare and kick drum for my project - added additional vocal fx to fill out sound. Ultra fast revisions. Recommended A+++++

Morgane was extremely fast and responsive to my brief! She delivered amazing quality of work with really quick turnarounds that needed minimal revisions and accommodated to all the requests that my client had! Superb singer, definitely hoping to work with her again in the future :)

Perhaps the most unique and powerful of a vocalist you could ask for, I truly can't imagine my project without Morgane. She is also very fastidious and the more info. you can give her the better.

I'd imagine you could provide simply a basic backbeat to sing over and with the right lyrics she would always do something incredible.

Especially when you add songwriting to your options she can make optimal use of your topline and basic idea.

Respect to Soundbetter for providing premium talent!

Morgane took on this special vocal part required for my song and it was just fantastic to work with Morgane, who is professional and flexible also energetic and combined with Morgane's lovely voice that made the song come out alive, just perfectly!

  10. Review by Nathalie T.

It was a pleasure to work with Morgane! She produced my track from scratch with beautiful ambient synth sounds and the mixing process was also very well done. She is very easy to work with and she understands all the needs and the wants of the singer as she is a singer herself. I recommend working with her!

So happy to start another big project with Morgane. Part 1 done and I could not be happier. Soaring leads and majestic choirs!

  12. Review by Jason Sidote

As a producer, goes above and beyond what is expected to achieve you the best possible result. Know her limits and abilities, can offer suggestions to make you song commercially viable if you allow her the opportunity and songwriting re-arrangements.

As a mixing engineer has a keen ear to distinguish even the slightest imbalances with Hz and tone. Large strength in vocal mixing and effects, one of the best.If you are willing to pay can craft new samples (kick/snare) for me. A++++ recommended

  13. Review by Oliver H.

Morgane was absolutely amazing on my track, great communication and understanding of the project and more than happy to make adjustments and changes I asked for. Incredibly happy with the final track all thanks to Morgane!

Morgane Matteuzzi is a gem to the Soundbetter community.

She is an amazing producer: this review is based solely on her vocal performance, additional lyric arrangements and song structure recrafting specific to this project.

Such a POWERFUL voice and knowing the proper moments of when to be soft and hold back. Re-structuring of lyrical arrangements to make the song flow correctly and have a more solid and memorable cohesion. Additional top line melodies. WOW, you get what you pay for! A+++++++

Another ingenious and very inventive piece from Morgane. Always a pleasure!

  16. Review by Jason Sidote

One of the most talented artists I've been lucky enough to work with. As a producer, Morgane has the foresight to know what parts to strategically cut out of a song to make it commercially viable and bring, fresh innovating ideas into her mixing. I sent her only a few examples of what I was looking for in terms of instrument soundforging and she knew quickly the proper effects to use to achieve the best sound and an extremely CLEAN product at the end. Highly recommended. A++

Morgane was extremely professional, courteous and paid prompt attention to the project with detailed communication.

Would always hire her for continued works based upon the above critique and of course her incredible vocal range/ability, artistic foresights on arrangement along with studio engineering abilities to deliver final vocal stems beyond expectation and with a perfect compression size.

    Would highly recommend, A+

Amazing artist and super pleasant to work with.
Always clear with what she expects and how much freedom I can take with the project, flexible with timings if needs be, and really inspiring music to take part in.
Looking forward to the next one.

Interview with Morgane Matteuzzi

  1. Q: What's your typical work process?

  2. A: As a singer, I usually listen to the client's track a couple of times and then follow my intuition. The most important for me is to convey emotions, tell a story and do it with honesty. As a producer and writer I ask for reference tracks and work my hardest to make my client's vision come true.

  3. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  4. A: Honestly every time a client is happy with the results I feel really proud :) If I do all this, it is because I want to make people happy by making their artistic vision come true.

  5. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  6. A: I am producing and recording vocals for Synthwave band 'Neutron solstice' and am working on symphonic compositions with Timothee Botbol the guest principal cello of the Welsh National Opera and West End musician.

  13. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  14. A: I come from a classical background and have been making music since I am a child, initially as a chorister. My love for creating choir effects most definitely comes from there! When I turned 18, I left Switzerland to learn English and study vocals at the 'Royal College of Music' in London. My passion for producing and writing never left me so I later studied songwriting/ music production at BIMM in Berlin. During that period of time, I also had the chance to learn music production from Royce Wood Junior (SOHN, Nao, Kwabs). During the last couple of years, I worked as a vocal arranger and vocalist for grammy awarded producer 'Philip Larsen' as well as the American rapper 'Sinizter' and producer 'Brian Spencer' (Scarlxrd, Sid Slipknot). I have produced and written for RTS (Swiss public broadcasting) and also had the chance to have some of my own productions playlisted on Swiss radio 'Couleur 3'.

  15. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  16. A: Björk, I would love to learn from her!

  17. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  18. A: Be creative, if a sample/stem does not sound perfect use its imperfection to create something unique, interesting and beautiful.

  19. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  20. A: Synthwave, alternative R&B, Electronic music, Epic music, Classical music. I love experimenting and blending genres but of course I am also able to stick to one of them and keep everything ''conventional''.

  21. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  22. A: I am very creative, I never run out of ideas.

  23. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  24. A: Depth, emotions, creativity, something unique :)

  25. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  26. A: I mostly work on Logic Pro X and sometimes on Ableton Live. I record my vocals with a Neumann TLM 103. My monitors are Adam audio T5V and I use DT 770 pro as headphones. I also have a Nektar GX49 as Midi keyboard and an Ableton push. :)

  27. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  28. A: I am really inspired by FKA twigs, Arca, Björk, Trent Reznor, Thom Yorke, Muse, Depeche mode, XXXtentacion, SOHN, Royce Wood Junior, Tigran Hamasyan, Avishai Cohen and many more.

  29. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  30. A: Connecting with people and creating a unique piece of art together.

  31. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
