Interview with TRIPPZ MICHAUD

Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am currently working on an album at the moment and working on new music videos to drop weekly to build momentum. Very focused and very excited for what the future has to bring!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That I will give 1000% on every single record I do. I absolutely love what I do, I am a full time musician, this is where all of my passion comes from, I will always do my very very very best in absolutely every piece of art I work on.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love the freedom, the expression of myself, the art, creating something that hasn't existed before!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I am only a rapper, I started off as a rapper but really learned how to sing and songwriter over the years! I definitely have a lot more I can provide than just rapping :)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My career path has been a true roller coaster! I've been creating music for 20 years and doing it 10+ years professionally! I signed a songwriting deal with Sony close to 10 years ago but in the past few years I've really been putting it all together independently using platforms like Tiktok and other social media to push my records. I wouldn't trade my music journey for anything in the world! Really loving where things are at right now, learning to just enjoy the ride and channel it into the art!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work on a lot of different genres but I usually focus on Alternative, Pop, Rock & Hip-Hop... somewhere in between those genres!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest Skill I truly believe is songwriting, really structuring the song and making it flow and feel COMPLETE!!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring my personality, I bring my story, I bring something different each time based on what I believe the song needs!
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I usually take a few days to a week to marinate in what I think the track truly needs to bring it to life before jumping into it... then I'll start laying rough melodies and demos until I figure out the direction, then lyrics, then I look at the song like a puzzle and really try piecing it together in the right way!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am inspired by a wide variety of musicians. Here are some of my biggest inspirations: Kid Cudi, The Beatles, Gorillaz, Tycho, Sigur Ros, System of a Down, Kanye West, Blink 182, Cage The Elephant, The Lumineers, Phoenix and any crazy new artist I find through discovery Weekly on Spotify!
